Mr. Dinesh Pant has been the Appointed Actuary and Executive Director (Actuarial) of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) prior to assuming the role of Managing Director. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Actuaries of India and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. Additionally, he holds degrees in Engineering and Law, along with a Master’s in Business Administration.

Shri Ratnakar Patnaik has been elevated to the rank of Managing Director of LIC of India. on 1 June 2025. Shri Patnaik born in 1968 joined LIC of India in March 1990 as a Direct Recruit Officer. He is a Graduate with Physics (Honours) and holds Master Degree in Public Administration. He is Fellow of Insurance Institute of India and also holds a Diploma in Health Insurance. Prior to taking charge as Managing Director of LIC, Shri Patnaik was Executive Director (Investment-Front Office) and Chief Investment Officer of the Corporation.

Beginning his stint Ratnakar Patnaik will continue as MD till March 31, 2028 i.e. till his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Currently, he is Executive Director (INVT – Front Office & CIO), Central Office (LIC) Mumbai.

It may be underlined that two posts of MD are falling vacant vice M Jagannath and Tablesh Pandey as both are retiring on May 31, 2025 while the incumbent CEO & MD Siddhartha Mohanty will be completing his terms of service in the first week of June.
