										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh has assumed the position of Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), bringing over three decades of extensive experience in Finance, Corporate Law, Insolvency, CSR, ESG Reporting, Public Policy, E-Governance, and Capacity Building. An esteemed officer of the Indian Post &amp; Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service (IP&amp;TAFS), 1992 batch, he has previously served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, CEO of the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), and as a member of the Governing Body of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). He also held the position of DG &amp; CEO of IICA during 2017–18, successfully transforming the institute into a financially self-sustaining entity.</p>
<p>Shri Singh has played a pivotal role in shaping insolvency laws and corporate governance in India, notably serving as the Member Secretary of the Insolvency Law Committee from 2018 to 2021. He contributed significantly to the implementation of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and its amendments, including the pre-packaged insolvency resolution law, thereby making the framework more responsive to economic needs. His efforts in establishing key institutions like NCLT, NCLAT, IEPFA, and IBBI under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, along with pioneering initiatives in CSR, including launching the National CSR Awards Scheme and overhauling CSR reporting rules, have had a lasting impact on corporate governance and responsible business practices.</p>
<p>With academic qualifications including an MA and M.Phil in Sociology from JNU, an MBA in Finance from FMS Delhi, and degrees in Law and History from Delhi University, Shri Singh also brings a global perspective through his experience as a Capacity Development Advisor with UNDP Afghanistan. His return to IICA marks a new chapter aimed at strengthening the institute’s role as a think tank, policy laboratory, and capacity development hub under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. His visionary leadership is expected to further advance IICA’s mission of promoting responsible corporate governance, sustainability, and innovation in India’s evolving business landscape.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, a seasoned civil servant, brings a wealth of experience to his role under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, backed by decades of thought leadership in public administration, finance, and corporate law. An officer of the Indian Post &amp; Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service (IP&amp;TAFS) from the 1992 batch, he holds a post-graduate degree in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, an MBA from FMS Delhi, and an LLB from Delhi University. His diverse educational background complements his extensive professional experience.</p>
<p>Throughout his career, Singh has held various positions within the Government of India and international organizations such as the UNDP, where he contributed to reconstruction efforts in high-risk conflict zones. He has developed significant expertise in several areas, including finance, public policy and administration, e-governance, insolvency, corporate law and governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), regulatory affairs, and capacity development. His service includes a pivotal stint as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs from August 2016 to October 2021.</p>
<p>During his tenure, Singh held multiple leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer of the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) and Director General and CEO of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA). He served on the Governing Body of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India and was a government nominee to the councils of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). As the Chairman of the Committee on Business Responsibility Reporting (BRR), he prepared a comprehensive report on Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) in August 2020, which led to SEBI mandating the filing of the BRSR report by the top 1,000 companies.</p>
