Shri Rajesh Kumar Chandel has officially assumed charge as Director (Projects) of SJVN, a prominent Navratna CPSE, receiving warm congratulations from CMD Shri Bhupender Gupta, Director (Personnel) Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma, and other senior officials. Bringing over 35 years of robust power sector experience with a core specialization in hydro power, Shri Chandel has a proven track record in project conceptualization, strategic planning, execution, monitoring, and international coordination across India, Nepal, and Bhutan.

His distinguished career includes serving as OSD to the CMD, heading major wholly owned subsidiaries in Nepal to oversee the 900 MW Arun-3 and 669 MW Lower Arun Hydro Electric Projects, commissioning the 1020 MW project in Bhutan as MD of PHPA-II, and leading the 66 MW Dhaulasidh Project in India. An expert in handling complex engineering tasks, his technical journey highlights nearly eight years dedicated to constructing the Head Race Tunnel for the landmark 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, alongside versatile corporate leadership roles since joining SJVN in 1994.

Capacity Building Commission signs MoU with Himachal

SHIMLA. The MoU between the Government of Himachal Pradesh, the Capacity Building Commission, and Karmayogi Bharat was formally concluded . The agreement was signed by the Secretary, Capacity Building Commission, Shri Jagdeep Gupta, and the CEO Karmayogi Bharat, Smt. Chhavi Bhardwaj. The agreement had earlier been signed by the Secretary (Training), Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Dr. Alka Mittal, Member (Admin), Capacity Building Commission, Ms. Chandralekha Mukherjee, Principal Advisor, Shri Rakesh Verma, COO, Karmayogi Bharat, Joint Controller Shri Rahul Lamba from Himachal Pradesh and other officials were present on the occasion. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of India AI Summit.

This collaboration reflects the spirit of Mission Karmayogi leveraging technology and AI-driven learning to build a future-ready, citizen-centric civil service, aligned with the transformative vision showcased at the India AI Summit.

SJVN Extends Financial Assistance to Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Kosh in Himachal Pradesh

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, SJVN has provided financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh to the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Kosh under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Scheme of the Government of Himachal Pradesh, which aims to ensure care, protection and long-term rehabilitation of orphaned, abandoned and surrendered children in the State. The cheque was presented to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in the presence of the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Pathania, and the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), Sh. Sanjay Sood, by Sh. Vikas Marwah, Head of Project, Rampur Hydro Power Station, and Sh. Vivek Sharma, Head of Project, Luhri Hydro Power Project (Stage-I). Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, SJVN, and Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN and Chairman, SJVN Foundation, stated that the contribution would support requirements related to education, healthcare, nutrition, housing, skill development and overall welfare of the beneficiary children.
