The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) celebrated its 15th Foundation Day in New Delhi with a Stakeholders’ Meet attended by senior government officials, industry leaders and financial institutions. Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, said SECI’s 15-year journey reflects India’s growing leadership in the global renewable energy transition and expressed confidence that the corporation will continue to play a central role in advancing the country’s clean energy vision.

The event featured discussions on emerging opportunities and challenges in India’s energy transition through two thematic sessions—“Reimagining Industry through Green Molecules” and “The Changing Energy Landscape: Distributed Renewables and New Energy Markets.” The sessions focused on green hydrogen and its derivatives, decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors, distributed renewable energy, consumer participation, energy markets, policy support, technology and financing.

Since its incorporation on September 20, 2011, SECI has facilitated the commissioning of over 41 GW of renewable energy capacity, signed power sale agreements exceeding 67 GW, and enabled investments of around ₹3.6 lakh crore. The Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is now expanding its own renewable energy projects while also promoting energy storage, green hydrogen and allied clean-energy technologies.
