										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The state owned Maharatna, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) today announced its financial results for the nine months period ended 31<sup>st</sup>  December, 2025 (9M FY’26), showcasing resilient operational performance and improved profitability.</p>
<p><b>Key highlights:</b></p>
<p>·        Crude steel production grew 2% from 14.08 to 14.35 million tonnes, showing stable operations of crude steel.</p>
<p>·        Sales Volume grows by 16.3% as the company increases outreach to retail and other consumers, inventory drawdown, or improved dispatch and market reach.</p>
<p>·        Revenue increased ~9–10% from ₹73,162 Cr to ₹79,997 Cr, broadly in line with volume growth.</p>
<p>·        Profit After Tax (PAT) soars by ~ 60%, highlighting operational efficiency, liquidation of inventory and cost optimization.</p>
<p>·        Reduction in Debt close to Rs. 5000 Crore during 9M FY’26.</p>

<p>We have delivered an improvement in profitability, with profit after tax rising 60% year‑on‑year for 9M FY’2025-26, driven by higher volumes, operating leverage and prudent financial management. The strong sales traction was supported by robust domestic demand and improved market penetration.</p>
<p>Despite volatility on the input cost front and competitive pricing environment, we sustained operating profitability, supported by higher volumes, product mix optimization, and continued cost discipline.</p>

Present with him were Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-Charge (CSR), Mr. Bivabasu Malik, GM (CSR) and other senior officers of the plant. Mr. Ignes Khadia and Mr. Jattru Oram, representatives of Jalda Gram Panchayat, briefed the DIC about the various village development activities being undertaken.</p>

<p>During the visit, the DIC reviewed the drinking water facilities being provided to the residents of the resettlement colony and assessed their effectiveness in improving the quality of life for the local community. The DIC also visited the Training-cum-Production Centre (TCPC) at Jalda, established under the CSR initiative of RSP in association with Usha Silai and Gram Utthan. He interacted with the women working at the centre, appreciated their efforts in skill development and livelihood generation, and assured all possible support for the continued success of such initiatives. Thereafter he visited the Jalda football ground to encourage sports and youth engagement in the region.</p>
<p>The visit reaffirmed RSP’s commitment towards community welfare and sustainable development in the peripheral areas.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p align="center"><b>-Caster-4 of Steel Melting Shop-2 becomes operational</b></p>
<p>Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a flagship unit of Maharatna Steel Conglomerate, SAIL, concluded the calendar year 2025 with a string of remarkable achievements in key production units, demonstrating its best-ever performance for any calendar year. The year also witnessed commencement of slab casting from of Caster-4 of Steel Melting Shop-2 on 13<sup>th</sup> October, 2025.</p>
<p>The Blast Furnace-5 ‘Durga’ produced 32,39,390 tons of Hot Metal in 2025 to register its best calendar year performance improving upon its earlier best figure of 30,72,786 tons achieved in 2024. Similarly, the Blast Furnace-1 tapped 10,62,722 tons of Hot Metal to clock its best annual performance with a growth of 8.9% over the previous calendar year 2024. The Hot Strip Mill-2 rolled 26,54,530 tons of HR Coils to achieve its best calendar year performance thereby improving upon its earlier best performance of 25,23,587 tons achieved in 2024. The Sheet Shearing Line also produced 3,16,582 tons of HR Plates to clock its best calendar year record with a growth of 39.3% over the previous year. The New Plate Mill registered its best calendar year performance by rolling 9,75,133 tons of plates and exceeding its earlier best figure of 9,47,778 tons achieved in 2024. The Sintering Plant-3 produced 37,45,069 tons of sinter to register its best annual performance surpassing the earlier best record of 37,30,532 tons achieved in 2021.</p>
<p>With 32,11,017 tons direct dispatch and 6,17,396 tons road dispatch, RSP achieved a growth of 11% and 19% over the previous year respectively.</p>
<p>In the techno-economics area also, RSP exhibited record performances with sustained focus on reducing input cost. The coal to hot metal ratio was all time best 0.882 while the shop coke rate stood at all time best figure of 385 Kgs. </ul>
<p>The Captive Power Plant-1 of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has created a new single day record on 25<sup>th</sup> December, 2025 by producing its highest-ever daily production of 53.17MW of power.</p>
<p>The Steam Turbine Generator (STG) 1 and 2 produced 33.16MW, Back Pressure Turbine Generator (BPTG) generated 3.71MW while the Top Recovery Turbine Generator (TRTG) produced 16.30MW of power thereby creating a record of producing 53.17MW of power. The previous best production was 52.41MW on 11<sup>th</sup> August, 2023.</p>
<p>Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge (DIC), RSP accompanied by Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines, OGoM-CMLO) and Mr. Sudip Palchowdhury, ED (Projects) visited the department on 27<sup>th</sup> December and congratulated the CPP-1 collective for their sustained efforts. Present on the occasion were many CGMs and senior officers of the plant.</p>
<p>Appreciating the efforts of the CPP-I collective, the DIC said that continuous improvement is the key to progress and urged the team to believe in constant upgradation. “We must have a belief that where we stand today, tomorrow there will be an improved version. This continuous evolution pushes us to achieve better results,” he remarked. Expressing confidence in the department’s capabilities, Mr. Verma said he is sure that CPP-I would soon achieve the next target level of 62MW. He further added that Rourkela Steel Plant must strive to become the lowest-cost steel producer by 2029, and called upon the collective to work with commitment and innovation to realise this goal.</p>
<p>To celebrate the remarkable performance, the DIC presented bouquets and sweets to the CPP-1 collective, commending their teamwork and dedication. All the Executive Directors also spoke on the occasion and encouraged the collective to sustain the momentum and repeat such outstanding performance. Earlier, Mr. N C Parida, GM (CPP-1) briefed the dignitaries about the journey of achieving this target and the next plans.</p>
<p>Mr. Deepak Roy, CGM (Power) thanked the management and associated departments for their support. Notably, Captive Power Plant plays a crucial role in ensuring energy security while reducing specific energy and coal consumption, leading to improved operational efficiency and cost optimisation. It also helps lower the carbon footprint, reinforcing RSP’s commitment to ESG principles and long-term sustainability goals.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>-10 MW Mandira Small Hydro Electric Project to supply green power to RSP</p>
<p>Reaffirming its commitment towards green energy usage in future and to meet the increasing demand of RE compliance,  GEDCOL SAIL Power Corporation Limited (GSPCL), a Joint Venture Company of GEDCOL and SAIL, is establishing a 10 MW Mandira Small Hydro Electric Project at Mandira Dam.</p>
<p>In this connection, the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between GSPCL and SAIL was signed on 24th December, 2025 at the Conference Hall of the Energy Department, Government of Odisha. The PPA signing ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Energy Department, Government of Odisha, CMD, OHPC and Chairman, Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (GEDCOL).</p>
<p>Also present on the occasion were Mr. B. C. Jena, Independent Director; Mr. R. C. Tripathy, Independent Director; Mr. P. K. Mohanty, Director (Finance), OHPC &amp; Chairman, GSPCL; and Mr. A. K. Mohanty, Director (Operation), OHPC &amp; GEDCOL. Representatives from SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) included Mr. Deepak Roy, CGM (Power) and Mr. R. K. Muduli, CGM (NPM, SPP &amp; Digitalization), Director on the Board of GSPCL.</p>
<p>As per the agreement, the entire power generated from the 10 MW Mandira Small Hydro Electric Project will be utilized by RSP. Power evacuation from the project will be carried out through Kuaramunda Grid Sub-station.</p>
<p>On this momentous occasion, Mr. Vishal Kumar Dev, congratulated the GSPCL team on the signing of the PPA and advised them to ensure completion of the project as per the stipulated schedule.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As a part of the HR initiative, ‘Pragati Ra Sathi’ a Plant visit was organised for the spouses of employees of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to sensitize them about the work conditions and working norms of the plant to become effective partners of progress.</p>
<p>Spouses of 20 employees from New Plate Mill, Hot Strip Mill-II, SPP and CEM were taken around Blast Furnace – V, New Plate Mill and Hot Strip Mill – II on 20<sup>th</sup> December, 2025. Mr. R K Muduli, CGM (NPM, SPP &amp; Digitalisation) presided over the welcome, orientation and interaction sessions. Also present were Mr. N Mohapatra, GM (NPM), Mr. S Subramanian, GM (NPM), Mr. PK Jena, Senior Manager (HR), Ms. Prangya Nath, ASO (NPM)  and other Senior Officers of the Department.</p>
<p>In the orientation programme the groups were shown a video on Plant Overview and Safety. During interaction the Senior Officers urged the guests to continue their unstinted support and encourage their partners to adhere to safety norms and standards. The visitors were briefed about the process of steel making right from Raw Material channelization to finished products.</p>
<p>The visit was coordinated by Mr. Sambit Nandi, Assistant Manager (HR) in association with the concerned Departments.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A comprehensive booklet on ‘Monsoon Preparation Plan for Odisha Group of Mines-CMLO’ was released by Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines, OGOM-CMLO), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects) and Mr. Rajesh Dasgupta, CGM (F&amp;A) in a programme organized at the ED (Mines) Conference Hall on 23<sup>rd</sup> December, 2025. The programme was attended by Mr. Anand Kumar, CGM, Mines (Projects, OGoM-CMLO), Mr. Joydev Chattopadhyay, CGM (RP&amp;E, OGoM-CMLO), and many senior officers of the pant.</p>
<p>Addressing the gathering, the senior officers highlighted the significance of the booklet and urged all concerned to strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines to optimize mining operations and minimize monsoon-related risks.</p>
<p>The booklet aims to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable mining operations during the challenging monsoon season in the region. For the first time, key aspects of operational readiness, site-specific best practices and innovative solutions have been consolidated in a single document. The initiative reflects systematic planning, adoption of modern technologies and environmentally responsible practices to mitigate monsoon-related challenges.</p>
<p>The booklet also showcases the collective efforts of mining professionals, engineers, safety personnel and field teams whose dedication ensures operational continuity and safety. It serves as a practical reference by documenting challenges faced, mitigation measures implemented and valuable lessons learned, thereby promoting continuous improvement.</p>
<p>The booklet is expected to be a useful guide for mining professionals at all levels, from senior management to field operators, and will further strengthen preparedness, resilience and operational continuity during the monsoon season.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A delegation of Five Members of the Standing Committee of the Odisha Legislative Assembly visited SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 23<sup>rd</sup> December, 2025 as part of their on-the-spot visit programme. The Hon’ble MLAs visiting RSP were Mr. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, Mr. Prashant Behera, Mr. Rupesh Kumar Panigrahi, Dr. Fakir Mohan Naik, and Mr. Uma Charan Mallick. Mr. Durga Charan Tanti, Hon’ble MLA of Raghunathpalli, Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge RSP, Dr. Shubhankar Mohapatra, DM &amp; Collector (Sundergarh), Ms. Dheenah Dastageer, ADM (Rourkela), Mr. Nitesh Wadhwani,  SP (Rourkela), Mr. Bijay Kumar Nayak, Sub-Collector (Panposh), Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works) RSP and other senior officials of District Administration and RSP accompanied the visiting dignitaries during the  Plant visit.</p>
<p>The delegation visited the Model Room of RSP, where they were given an overview of RSP’s production units, expansion plans, technological advancements and contribution to the socio-economic development of the region. The Committee also visited the state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill–II, one of the major rolling mills of RSP, where they witnessed the rolling process and interacted with plant officials. They were briefed about the mill’s modern facilities, product range and its importance in meeting domestic and strategic steel requirements.</p>
<p>The visit concluded with an interactive session, during which the Committee members expressed satisfaction over the performance and progress of RSP.</p>
