The RSP Women’s team topped the league table by winning all three of its league matches. Continuing their winning momentum, the team defeated Sundargarh by 28–19 in the pre-quarterfinal and edged past Puri by 35–33 in a closely contested quarterfinal to advance to the semifinals. The team, however, lost to KIIT in the semifinal clash and finished third overall.

The team comprised Sumitra Mundary (Captain), Satyabati Bagh, Miliya Kujur, Sunita Mahakul, Niki Rout, Mamta Mundary, Sanidha Minz, Twinkle Kishan and Sumati Majhi. Notably, Sumitra Mundary was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ in two games for her outstanding performance. Mr. Sukuru Tanty, Junior Engineering Associate, RS (M), and Mr. Kameshwar Singh, Junior Engineer, Water Supply (Town), served as the coaches of the team, while Ms. Tilottama Agarwal was the team manager.

The Women’s team comprised Ms. Shanti Kumari, GM (PD), Ms. Nibedita Behera, Manager (New Plate Mill), Ms. Rita Murmu, Senior Manager (Hot Strip Mill-II), and Ms. K Sravani, MT-T (PP&C). The RSP team emerged champion defeating the team from Bokaro in the finals.

The men’s team comprised Mr. R Naveen, AGM (New Plate Mill), Mr. PNMY Swamy, AGM (CO&CC), Md. M Rasid, EA (T&RM) and Mr. T K Swain, JEA (BF). The team beat Bhilai Steel Plant to clinch the Bronze medal.

Mr. Rajiv Nayak, Section Officer, ED (Works) Secretariat was the manager of the team while Mr. Ashutosh Dalai, Senior Manager (New Plate Mill) was the coach of the team. It is noteworthy that all the units of SAIL participated in the championship.
