25 Employees of SMS-II of Rourkela Steel Plant felicitated under ‘SAIL SHABASH’ Scheme

A felicitation function was organized at the SMS-II Conference Hall of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 25^th February 2026 to award 25 employees, including executives of the SMS-II Department, under the “SAIL SHABASH” scheme. The awards were presented in recognition of their exemplary contributions in the areas of production, quality, planning and safety.

Mr. M. G. Srikanth, CGM, SMS-II presided over the function and presented the Category-2 Letters of Appreciation along with mementoes to the awardees. A cross-section of employees, including all Heads of Sections and representatives from the HR Department, attended the programme.

Congratulating the awardees, the CGM appreciated the efforts of the award winners and commended their dedication and commitment. He encouraged all employees to continue demonstrating the same enthusiasm and sense of responsibility, and to lead from the front in strengthening production, maintenance and safety performance of the department.

The function was coordinated by Mr. Prashant Kumar Nayak, Senior Manager, SMS-II.

Employees of Plate Mill Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant awarded under SAIL Shabash Scheme

An award ceremony was organized at the Conference Hall of Plate Mill Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), on 28th July, 2025. Mr. Etwa Oraon, CGM (Plate Mill) chaired the function and presented Shabash certificates to 7 employees of the Department. Present on the occasion were Mr. Y K Roy, GM, Mr. Diptankar Mohapatra, GM (Electrical), Mr. S K Nahak, DGM, Mr. Satyadev Sharma, AGM, Mr. B K Senapati, AGM and other senior officers of the department. The employees who received the awards are Mr. Nitya Nanda Das, Mr. Bigypan Barisal, Mr. Chandrabrata Nanda, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Naik, Mr. Narendra Sethi, Mr. Samir Kumar Mohanty and Mr. Harekrushna Das all from Plate Mill. The employees were awarded in recognition of exceptional efforts in their respective areas of work.

Commending the efforts of the recipients, Mr. Oraon encouraged them to maintain their high standards and called upon the entire team to strive for excellence in all areas.

Employees of Plate Mill Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant awarded under SAIL Shabash Scheme

An award ceremony was organized at the Conference Hall of Plate Mill Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), on 18th July, 2025. Mr. Etwa Oraon, CGM (Plate Mill) chaired the function and presented Shabash certificates to 32 employees of the Department. Present on the occasion were Mr. Y K Roy, GM, Mr. S K Nahak, DGM, Mr. Satyadev Sharma, AGM and other senior officers of the department. The employees were awarded for achieving the highest-ever road dispatch of 9,502 tons in the month of March, a milestone made possible through the exemplary teamwork of the shipping crew.

Congratulating the recipients of the award, Mr. Oraon urged them to continue the good work and exhorted the collective to excel in every endeavour.

Employees of Safety Engineering and Fire Services of Rourkela Steel Plant awarded under SAIL Shabash Scheme

An award ceremony was organized at the Conference Hall of Safety Engineering Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), on 25th June, 2025. Ms. Asha Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) chaired the function. Ms. Kartha along with Mr. Abakash Behera, GM (Safety Engineering Department) awarded 8 personnel of Safety Engineering and 7 personnel of Fire Services departments under the SAIL Shabash Scheme. The Fire Services personnel comprising 3 groups were recognized for their efforts in improving emergency response time, effective and cost efficient maintenance of Fire Engine and Rescuing of a Cobra from Plate Mill area. From the Safety Engineering department 2 personnel were awarded certificates & Gifts and the rest personnel were awarded certificates in recognition of their outstanding contributions in ensuring safety in respective work areas. Senior Officers of the departments were present on the occasion.

Congratulating the recipients of the award, Ms. Kartha urged them to continue the good work and exhorted the collective to excel in every endeavour.

Seven Employees of Town Engineering and Horticulture Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant were awarded under SAIL Sabash Award scheme in Town Engineering Conference Hall on 8^th March 2025. Mr. B K Jojo, CGM (Town Engineering & Horticulture) presided over the function and handed over the awards. Present on the occasion were Mr. Roshan Khalkho, GM (Town Engineering – Electrical), Mr. Satyananda Sahoo, DGM (Town Engineering-WS), Mr. P K Khilar, AGM (TE-Civil), Mr. P K Mandhata, Senior Manager (TE-Civil), Mr. P K Sahoo, Senior Manager (TE-Electrical) and other senior officers of the Town Engineering Department.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Jojo commended the outstanding achievements of the awardees and urged all to emulate their commitment.

Three employees who received a Letter of Appreciation & Gift Card were Mr. Ashok Kumar, Technician (TE-Civil), Mr. Basant Kumar Das and Mr. Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, Engg. Asst. (TE-WS). The Letter of Appreciation was given to Mr. Santosh Kumar Das Engg. Asst (TE-Electrical), Mr. B K Tirkey, Engg. Asst.(TE-Electrical), Mr. Siba Charan Tanty, Senior TCO(TE-WS) and Mr. Aju George, Senior Technician (TE-Civil).

Employees of CPP-1 department of Rourkela Steel Plant awarded under SAIL Shabash Scheme

36 Employees of Captive Power Plant-1 (CPP-1) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant were awarded under category-1 of the SAIL Shabash Scheme in an award function organized at the CPP-1 Conference Hall on 18^thFebruary, 2025. Mr. Deepak Roy, CGM (Power), chaired the function and felicitated the employees in recognition of their enterprising efforts in respective work places. The recipients comprised 4 executives and 32 employees of the department.

Mr. N. C. Parida, GM (Operation & Mechanical), CPP-I, Mr. B. V. Dash, GM (Electrical), CPP-I, Mr. Jaiveer Singh, GM (Mechanical), CPP-I, Mr. Jaladhar Dalai, GM (Electrical), CPP-I, and other senior executives of CPP-I were present on the occasion.

Some of the major jobs for which the awards were given included Provision of Auto drain valve in M.P.boiler#2 air receiver tank for auto drainage of moisture, Provision of Hooter in M.P.Boiler#1&2, Providing Soft water in three numbers of Boiler feed pump for better cooling purpose of stuffing box in M.P. Boiler#1&2, Fixing of Pressure gauge in discharge line of soft water pump of M.P.Boiler#1&2 for monitoring the performance of the pump, In-house fabrication and commissioning of HP Boiler #3 BF gas drum seal remote operation mechanism, Modification of HP boiler -4 ID fan’s hot air seals, Successful development of smart storage facility for slings, Successful assembling of a rejected Waterjet ejector Pump for TA#2/3, Making matra lathe functional by in-house fabrication and replacement of automatic lever, Preparation & installation of spare assembly for AOP#1 of TA#2 & 3, Successful isolation and charging of Feed Water Tank # 4&5 for saddle repairing job of Feed tank # 4, Successful commissioning, cable laying of DM WTP#4 and smooth start up and shutdown facility from DCS etc.

An award ceremony was organized at the Administrative Building of Hot Strip Mill-2 Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), on 22^nd February, 2025. Mr. Subrat Kumar, CGM (HSM & Auxilliaries) chaired the function and awarded 20 employees of the department under the SAIL Shabash Scheme. The employees were awarded in recognition of their outstanding contributions to production, dispatch, maintenance, and close inspection to achieve targets of the unit. Mr. R. Kujur, GM (Electrical), Mr. Dipak Kumar, GM (Operations), Mr. SubratKanungo, GM (Mechanical), Mr. H. S. Allahabadia, GM, (Operations), and Mr. Manoranjan Kumar DGM, (Operations) were present on the occasion.
