										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A special two phase sewing training module commenced at Institute for Peripheral Development, of the CSR Office of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 9<sup>th</sup> February 2026. Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR) presided over the inaugural function. Present on the occasion were Mr. Bivabasu Mallick, GM (CSR), Mr. R S Bara, DGM (CSR), Mr. T B Toppo, DGM (CSR), Mr. Binayak Jena, AGM (CSR), representative from Usha Silai School and Gram Uthaan and other officials of the organisation. 11 women of Self Help Groups of Baniguni village in Kuarmunda Block and Jhirpani Re-Settlement Colony of Bisra Block will be undergoing this training. Mr. T B Toppo welcomed the gathering while Mr. S K Sukula, Deputy Manager (CSR) proposed a formal vote of thanks. Mr. Zahid Akhtar coordinated the function.</p>

<p>The aim of the programme is to develop the skill of underprivileged women in tailoring and to establish Training cum Production Centre (TCPC) at Peripheral village site.</p>
<p>The first phase comprises training in Sewing machine installation, repair and servicing, designing and pattern making, measurement techniques and cutting, sewing and stitching, garment fitting, hemming and interlocking, packaging and fasting and specific garment making training.</p>
<p>After the completion of the first phase each trainee would be provided with a commercial sewing machine.  The second phase would be a 10 days refresher  course on site after a period of six months.</p>

<p>The 58<sup>th</sup> Annual Horticulture Show-2026 organised by the Horticulture Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was inaugurated by Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge (DIC) on 17<sup>th</sup> January 2026 at Jubilee Park. Present on the occasion were Mrs. Namrata Verma, President, Deepika Mahila Sanghati, Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. B K Giri, ED (MD-CMLO), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines, OGoM-CMLO), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), Mr. Rajesh Dasgupta, CGM (F&amp;A), Dr. Anup Mallick, Regional Officer, OSPCB, Government of Odisha, Mrs. Prabhati Misra, Dr. Pratijna Palai, Mrs. Vandana Singh, Mrs. Rita Rani, and Mrs. Nabanita Palchowdhury, all Vice Presidents of Deepika Mahila Sanghati, Mr. B K Jojo, CGM (Town Engineering &amp; Horticulture), Dr. Avijit Biswas, GM (Horticulture) &amp; In-Charge (ZDP) and other Senior Officials of RSP.</p>

<p>The DIC along with the other dignitaries went around the exhibition and took keen interest in the diverse range of flowers, fruits and plants on display. He applauded the efforts of the Horticulture Department for organizing the grand show for the 58<sup>th</sup> year which has created a niche for itself in the region, becoming a much-anticipated annual event that showcases the best in horticulture and attracts enthusiasts from far and wide. Emphasising the role of nature especially flowers on human mind, the DIC while addressing the gathering said “Flowers touch the human mind by softening emotions, refreshing thoughts and awakening a sense of peace and joy.”</p>

<p>The Show witnessed 961 entries in various categories like cut flowers, pot plants, fruits, vegetables, bonsai, Dinner Bowl Arrangement, Best Arranged Flower, Button Hole,  Bouquet, Garland (Other than Roses) and Models made with flowers and foliage. Large number of visitors thronged the Jubilee Park applauding the myriad varieties of flowers, vegetables and fruits on display such as variety of roses, Chrysanthemum, Dahlia, Dianthus, Sweet Peas, Antirrhinum, Carnations, Calendula, Phlox, Pansy, Gerbera, Lupin, Marigold, Aster, Salvia, Gladioli, Candytuft and many more. Garden Layout competition is also included in the event.</p>
<p>A riveting cultural programme was presented by students and other cultural troupes on the occasion.  Mr. Sasanka S Pattanaik, Deputy Manager (PR) coordinated the programme.</p>
<p>The two day exhibition would conclude with an award giving ceremony on the evening of 18<sup>th</sup> January.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A function was organized at the ED (MM) Conference Hall of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 8<sup>th</sup> January, 2026 to present Shabash awards to personnel of Materials Management (MM) department. Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM) presided over the function and presented the awards along with Mr. T Vinod, CGM (MM), and Mr. Ajay Shukla, GM In-charge (Marketing) presented awards to 15 personnel of MM department   in recognition of their exemplary performance in respective areas.</p>
<p>Congratulating the award winners Mr. Anil Kumar appreciated their dedication, professionalism and commitment towards achieving departmental and organizational goals. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, innovation and accountability in strengthening the Materials Management function and contributing to the overall growth of the organization.</p>
<p>It is noteworthy that a total of 11 employees received award under Category I. The recipients of the category II award are Mr Anselm Omden Namchu, GM (MM), Mr Manish Kumar Dhakad, Senior Manager (Store), Mr. Akshaya Kumar Sethy, Deputy Manager (Marketing) and  Mr Tapan Kumar Naik, Deputy Manager (Purchase).</p>
