										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>VIZAG</strong> .Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, paid heartfelt tributes to its former Chairman and Managing Director, Shri J. Mehra, who passed away on February 25, 2026, in Delhi.</p>
<p>CMD, Directors, CVO, and senior officials expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to his family. Shri Mehra joined RINL as Director (Operations) in January 1992 and assumed charge as CMD on June 1, 1993. His leadership was instrumental in strengthening the organisation’s operational stability and guiding it towards sustained growth.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All PSUs and institutions under its administrative control of Steel Ministry , including SAIL, NMDC, RINL, KIOCL, MOIL, MECON, MSTC, NISST, JPC, and BPNSI, observed the &#8216;Swachhata Pakhwada&#8217; from March 16 to 31, 2025. The initiative saw active participation from officers and employees across various plants and units of the PSUs, who engaged in numerous cleanliness activities. The event commenced with a &#8216;Swachhata Pledge&#8217; ceremony at the Ministry of Steel, where cloth banners and standees were displayed prominently to raise awareness. Comprehensive cleaning activities were undertaken in the Ministry&#8217;s premises, including the recording and weeding out of old files, as well as the removal of outdated posters and banners. Cleanliness inspections were conducted by a team of officers to ensure a clean environment within the Ministry.</p>
<p>Throughout the Swachhata Pakhwada, the participating PSUs engaged in a variety of activities, such as administering the swachhata pledge, cleaning townships, factories, and nearby villages/slums, and maintaining cleanliness in schools adopted under the Swachh Vidyalaya initiative.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>National Energy Conservation Day was celebrated at a program organized at Dr. Tenneti Viswanatham auditorium of the Learning and Development Center of Visakhapatnam steel plant. The programme was inaugurated by Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations), RINL along with Sri S.C.Pandey, Director (Personnel), Sri Ch.S.V.G. Ganesh, Director (Finance), Sri GVN Prasad, Director (Commercial) and Sri R.Mohanti, CGM (Works)-Incharge and Sri A.K. Sobti, CGM(Mktg) of RINL.</p>
<p>Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations), RINL advised employees and families to focus on energy conservation in day to day life and operate all facilities at rated capacity to reduce energy consumption and cost. He congratulated RINL for winning the National Energy Leader award for 6 times and Excellent Energy Efficient Unit Award for 8 times and it is a rare achievement for any PSU and Integrated Steel Plant to achieve this feat.  He lauded Energy Management department collective for conducting an extensive energy conservation awareness campaign amongst all departments and schools through various programs from 1st to 14th December, 2024.</p>
<p>About 3500 persons participated in various programmes in the energy conservation awareness campaign. Representatives of Steel Executive Association, trade Unions, SC&amp;ST Association, OBC association, WIPS, and a large number of employees enthusiastically participated in the energy Conservation day celebrations at RINL.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have signed a MoU for the supply of hydraulic and lubricating oils and greases from 2024 to 2029. The MoU was exchanged in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. Sri A.K. Bagchi, Director (Projects) and Director (Operations) at RINL, highlighted the collaboration as a benchmark in nation-building through industrial partnership. Sri R. Uday Kumar, ED (Lubes) at IOCL, described the agreement as a &#8220;Milestone day,&#8221; celebrating the three-decade-long association between the companies. The MoU ensures uninterrupted lubricant supply to RINL, along with technical support, condition monitoring, and training to optimize lubricant use and efficiency.</p>

<p>Leaders of various unions, who have been fighting for more than 1,000 days against the proposal to privatise the steel plant among other issues, are ready to take the opportunity to meet the Union Steel Minister directly. They reportedly will seek merger of RINL-VSP with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, (RINL- Vizag Steel Plant ) is incurring a revenue loss of Rs 40-50 crore per day due to workers&#8217; protest at Adani&#8217;s Gangavaram port in Andhra Pradesh, according to a letter written by the state-owned company to the Adani Group port firm.</p>
<p>“Due to non-availability of required coking coal, the company has been suffering a revenue loss of Rs 40-50 crore per day. Further, the health of equipment is endangered with prolonged shutdowns,” Atul Bhatt, chairman and managing director, RINL, said in the letter dated May 5.</p>
