NHPC signs MOU with IOCL for Development of Pumped Storage and other Renewable Energy Projects

FARIDABAD. NHPC signed MOU with IOCL on 27th June 2025 for collaboration and exploring opportunities for Development of Pumped Storage and other Renewable Energy Projects in India and overseas country in Joint Venture Mode.

The MOU was signed by Rajat Gupta, Executive Director (SBD&C) from NHPC and Pravin Dongre, Executive Director (SD) from IOCL in the presence of R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical) and GM (SBD&C) from NHPC and Suman Kumar, Director (P&BD) & Manoj Nanda, CGM (SD) from IOCL.

The MOU aims to foster long term collaboration between NHPC and IOCL for exploring the opportunities in the sector and development of Pumped Storage, Hydroelectric and other Renewable Energy projects in the country and abroad. The collaboration shall open new pathways for faster expansion of Renewable Energy portfolio of both the companies.

NIRL and MAHAPREIT Join Forces to Develop 5000 MW Renewable Energy Projects in Maharashtra

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) has signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) in Mumbai to establish a Joint Venture Company (JVC) for the development of renewable energy projects in Maharashtra. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in NIRL’s expansion into the state’s dynamic green energy sector, aiming to develop up to 2000 MW of renewable energy capacity in the initial phase—including solar, wind, hybrid, floating solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), pumped storage, and solar parks—starting with 500 MW in Phase I and eventually scaling up to 5000 MW across Maharashtra

NHPC signed an MOU with Govt PSU RVUNL, Rajasthan

NHPC signed an MOU with RVUNL, Govt of Rajasthan for development of Pumped Storage and other Renewable Energy Projects in the State of Rajasthan in Joint Venture mode. Two Pumped Storage projects 1000 MW each are being considered for development in first phase.

The MOU has been signed by Sh Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), NHPC and Sh Devendra Shringi, CMD, RVUNL in the august presence of Smt Arti Dogra, IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary (Energy) and Chairman (Discoms), Govt. of Rajasthan along with ED (SBD&C), NHPC and other senior officers from State Govt. and NHPC

IREDA, IIFCL join hands for co-financing of renewable energy projects

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has confirmed its partnership with Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) for co-financing of renewable energy projects. According to an official statement from IREDA, a MoU has been signed between IREDA and IIFCL to provide long-term financial assistance to viable infrastructure projects. The MoU has been signed by IREDA CMD Pradip Kumar Das and IIFCL’s Managing Director PR Jaishankar in New Delhi.

SJVN signs MoUs with ONGC and SSL for joint development of renewable energy projects.

The MoU inked with ONGC will pave a way for joint development of renewable energy projects. This will include Offshore & Onshore Solar, Wind, Hybrid, RTC projects, venturing into new technologies such as Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia etc. The joint development of the projects shall be done by formation of a Joint Venture Company between SGEL, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN and ONGC.

The MoU with ONGC will pave a way for joint development of renewable energy projects including offshore & onshore solar, wind, hybrid, round the clock (RTC) projects, venturing into new technologies such as green hydrogen, green ammonia etc,” he said.
