Coimbatore, 27 November 2025 – The foundation stone for the Workshop and Classroom Building at the Ramakrishna Mission Technical Campus, Coimbatore, was laid on 27 November 2025. The upcoming structure is being funded by REC Limited under its CSR initiative.

The ceremony was graced by Shri. Narayanan Thirupathy, Independent Director, REC Ltd. and Shri. Immanuvel Antony Doss, Chief Manager, REC Ltd.

The new facility, being constructed at a cost of ₹9.06 crore, represents a significant step towards strengthening technical education and advancing skill development, further supporting youth empowerment in the region.

REC & Meghalaya Government Facilitate Landmark MoU to Enhance Power Infrastructure Quality in Meghalaya

New Delhi, November 14, 2025 — REC Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has successfully mediated a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) and the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), aimed at strengthening the quality testing infrastructure for power distribution in Meghalaya and North-East India. The MoU, signed in the presence of senior officials including Meghalaya Chief Secretary Dr. Shakeel P. Ahammed and REC CMD Shri Jitendra Srivastava, focuses on establishing a NABL-accredited testing facility within Meghalaya. This initiative addresses logistical challenges by enabling local testing of critical materials, such as transformers and equipment, thereby expediting quality assurance processes and reducing delays associated with transporting materials to distant laboratories. CPRI will provide comprehensive technical support, including preparing specifications, supervision, and training, to ensure the facility meets NABL standards, boosting local technical capacity and ensuring higher quality standards for power infrastructure under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

This strategic partnership signifies a major step toward improving power system reliability and project execution in Meghalaya. REC Limited’s role as the mediator underscores its commitment to timely and high-quality project delivery, while the local NABL-certified lab is expected to accelerate material testing and inspection processes, ultimately benefitting consumers through reduced project delays and enhanced infrastructure quality. Meghalaya’s Chief Secretary emphasized that this initiative will accelerate RDSS implementation and help MePDCL develop in-house testing capabilities, while REC CMD highlighted that establishing a local testing facility will overcome geographic hurdles and ensure that infrastructure projects meet the highest standards, reinforcing the collective commitment of all stakeholders to reliable and efficient power supply for the region.

REC Reports Record ₹8,877 Crore Profit in H1 FY26; Disbursements increased 27% to ₹1,15,470 crore

New Delhi: REC Limited has reported its highest-ever profit of ₹8,877 crore for the first half of FY26, marking a 19% rise over ₹7,448 crore in the same period last year. The company’s total income grew 12% year-on-year to ₹29,828 crore, while net interest income rose 15% to ₹10,608 crore. Disbursements increased 27% to ₹1,15,470 crore. During the second quarter, sanctions nearly doubled to ₹1,49,832 crore compared to ₹76,200 crore in Q2 FY25. REC maintained healthy spreads of 2.89% and a net interest margin of 3.64%. The loan book expanded to ₹5.82 lakh crore, and net credit-impaired assets reduced sharply to 0.24%. Net worth stood at ₹82,739 crore as of September 30, 2025. Continuing its strong performance, the Board declared a second interim dividend of ₹4.60 per equity share, taking the total interim dividend for FY26 to ₹9.20 per share.
