Speaking at annual dashahra rally of shivsena udhdhav the Shiv Sena is committed to providing reservation in jobs and education to the Dhangar (shepherd) community and will also fight for the rights of “India-loving” Muslims.

In his 35-minute-long speech Thackeray highlighted Ram Mandir issue and said “Courts have a holiday on the day when Lord Ram killed Ravan (on Dussehra). Courts are also closed the day when Ram returned to Ayodhya (on Diwali) after killing Ravan. The only issue of contention now is whether Ram was born in Ayodhya,” he said.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised not to speak on the Ram temple issue as the matter is pending before the Supreme Court. “The Supreme Court verdict is expected this month, but our demand remains that a special law be enacted for construction of a Ram mandir in Ayodhya,” 

Mr Thackeray said his party is not the raising the issue of Ram temple for politics or electoral gains.“We are committed to the construction of the temple. When we got our bow and arrow symbol, the issue of Ram mandir wasn’t there,” he said to drive home the point that the sensitive matter was above politics for the party.

Of the 288 seats, the BJP is contesting 164 and the Shiv Sena 124, establishing the latter as a junior ally in a state where it was once the senior coalition partner. “We did make some compromises for the alliance to happen, but they were in the interest of Maharashtra. I apologise to Shiv Sainiks whose seats have gone to the allies”.

Thackeray sought to dispel the notion that the Shiv Sena had “surrendered” while entering into a pre-poll alliance with the BJP for the assembly polls. “You have to continue working hard to make the party strong and work to make sure its victory,” he said,

दशहरे का मतलब केवल शक्ति पूजा नहीं बल्कि भक्ति भी है तभी तो रावण को भले ही बडे मैदानों में खडा कर जलाया जाता है लेकिन राम का ये संदेश भी होता है कि अब सब मिलकर रहें .यही आज की सबसे बडी जरुरत भी है l

देश में दशहरा मनाने को लेकर कई कहानियां प्रचलित है लेकिन सबसे ज्यादा प्रचलित रामायण की वो कहानी है जिसमें रावण ने अपने अंहकार के चलते मां सीता का अपहरण किया तो राम ने वानरों की सेना जुटाकर भी उसे हरा दिया .कहते है कि इसी दिन राम ने रावण का वध किया इसलिए उसके पुतले को जलाया जाता है. लेकिन गहराई से देखे तो इसमें कई संदेश छिपे हैं. पहला महिला के आत्मसम्मान का .राजा या कोई भी किसी को स्त्री के अपमान या अपहरण की इजाजत नही दी जा सकती वरना दंड सबसे बडा होगा .. दूसरा राम वैसे तो विष्णु के अवतार माने जाते है और उस समय वो अयोध्या के निर्वासित राजा भी थे वो चाहते थे तो अय़ोध्या और बाकी राजाओं से सेना मांग सकते थे लेकिन राम ने वानरों और आदिवासियों की सेना बनायी और संदेश दिया कि नेतृत्व सही हो तो कोई भी लक्ष्य दूर नहीं . फिर जब रावण का वध किया तो कहते है कि खुद राम ने लक्ष्मण को रावण से आशीर्वाद लेने भेजा और कहा कि अब अहंकार नहीं है तो रावण प्रखर विद्वान है . राम की इस कथा में बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत का संदेश सबसे अहम है और यही दशहरा का मतलब भी हैl

एक कहानी ये भी है कि मां दुर्गा ने राक्षसों का वध किया और शक्ति की स्थापना की ताकि सभी लोग शांत से रह सके .मां के इसी प्रताप के कारण कई लोग पूरे नौ दिन उपवास रखते हैं फिर दशहरे की पूजा से नये काम की शुरुआत करते हैं. बुंदेलखंड में इन नौ दिन में गेंहू की बालियां उगाने का चलन है .दशहरे से फसल कटाई की शुरुआत भी होती है .इस तरह यह किसानों का भी त्यौहार है
शमी वृक्ष की पूजा करें l

एक और कहानी महाकाव्य महाभारत से निकलती है। कहानी के अनुसार पांडवों को 12 साल का वनवास और एक वर्ष छुपकर बिताना पड़ा था, क्योंकि उन्हें कौरवों ने जुए के खेल (चौसर) में पराजित कर दिया था। इसलिए उन्होंने निर्वासन के अंतिम वर्ष अलग अलग भेष में रहकर बिताने की योजना बनाई। चूँकि वे नहीं चाहते थे कि कोई और शख्स पहचान पाए कि उन्होंने अपने दिव्य और शक्तिशाली हथियारों को शमी के वृक्ष में छिपाया था।

एक वर्ष के अंत में वे अपने हथियार खोजने के लिए वापस आए और देवी दुर्गा, देवता की पूजा की। वे अपने हथियारों को लाने के बाद कौरवों के खिलाफ युद्ध में सीधे चले गए और बाद में विजयी हुए।

यह आयोजन दशमी में हुआ था और चूंकि बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत हुई थी, इसलिए उस दिन को नवरात्रि के नौ दिनों को तमस, रज और सत्व के तीन मूल गुणों के अनुसार वर्गीकृत किया जाता है। पहले तीन दिन तमस के होते हैं, जहां देवी दुर्गा और काली की तरह उग्र होती हैं। अगले तीन दिन लक्ष्मी से संबंधित हैं – सौम्य लेकिन भौतिक रूप से उन्मुख देवी। अंतिम तीन दिन मां सरस्वती को समर्पित हैं, जो सत्त्व है। यह ज्ञान और विज्ञान से संबंधित है।
