Union Aviation Minister launches fixed fares scheme on Alliance Air

NEW Delhi: In a pioneering initiative that could offer much relief to flyers, Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu on Monday launched ‘Fare Se Fursat’, a service on the government-owned regional carrier, Alliance Air.

An official release said, “Fair Se Fursat is aimed at giving passengers freedom from the stress of fluctuating airfares and promoting ease of flying in the country.”

Under this scheme, Alliance Air will offer a single, fixed fare that remains constant regardless of the booking date, even on the day of departure. The initiative will be implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, across select routes, to evaluate its operational feasibility and passenger response.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has inaugurated Yatri Sewa Diwas 2025, starting from Hindon Airport, with Union Minister Rammohan Naidu leading the launch. Emphasizing a passenger-centric approach, Naidu highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of governance rooted in service to the people. The initiative aims to make airports more responsive and equitable by addressing gaps in basic amenities, health safety, and inclusivity, especially for women, senior citizens, and travelers at smaller or newer airports. The launch event featured free medical check-ups, health awareness drives under the Swastha Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, cultural welcome activities, tree planting, and outreach programs targeting taxi drivers, students, and vulnerable groups. Additionally, all airports are set to become WiFi-enabled under the Digital India Mission, ensuring standardized digital access and a more seamless travel experience across the country.

Yatri Sewa Diwas seeks to elevate passenger welfare to a level equal with infrastructure development, emphasizing service quality, safety, and dignity for all travelers. By focusing on health awareness, digital connectivity, and inclusive services, the campaign aims to create consistent improvements in airport facilities—such as hygiene, comfortable waiting areas, and responsive staff—while ensuring vulnerable groups receive better protection. Success hinges on sustained efforts like staff training, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous feedback to translate this symbolic initiative into lasting change. Government Issues Guidelines For Operation Of Seaplanes In Country

Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu has launched the guidelines for seaplane operation under RCS-UDAN. The guidelines prioritise the safety and security of seaplane operations and clearly outline the responsibilities of each stakeholder, from the operators to the regulatory bodies.

The guidelines ensure seamless and efficient rollout of seaplane operations across the nation. Speaking on the occasion in New Delhi, Mr. Naidu said that the guidelines aim to connect remote areas of the country and make travel more accessible for all. He added that after the success of RCS-UDAN, the government is considering to propose RCS-UDAN 2.0 for the next 10 years.

The Union Minister said that the integration of seaplanes into the existing aviation system will provide last-mile connectivity to the regions that have remained isolated due to geographical challenges. He added that this new mode of transportation will provide faster and more comfortable travel to these areas but also open up new avenues for economic growth, particularly in the tourism sector.

Mr. Naidu said that the country is uniquely positioned to leverage the potential of seaplane operations and the government is committed to unlocking the potential and transforming coastlines, rivers, lakes, and islands for connectivity, avenues of economic opportunity, and pathways to inclusive development.
