More than 60 people have died in the Bihar rains till today and  A few places such as Patna’s Rajendra Nagar have not had electricity or phone connection last five days .                                                           

He said floods occur in many parts of the country and around the world. “I am asking in how many parts of the country and across the world, have there been floods?” he asked. “Is water in some parts of Patna the only problem we have? What happened in America?” in flood.The chief minister said the floods were a result of a natural calamity. “We are extending every possible relief effort to the people affected by the floods in the city,” Kumar added. “We are doing everything we can. No one is sitting idle. This is a natural calamity magnified by climate change.”

The chief minister assured the media that pumps were being used to drain the water from the city. “Over 12 districts were affected by a flash flood in July this year,” Kumar added. “After that, several parts of the state were hit by drought. Now, several districts are affected by the swelling of the Ganga and amid that heavy rains caused floods in Patna.”

The number of dead in rain-related accidents in the state is increasing. According to the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, “So far 29 people have died in the state due to rain.” The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in 14 districts. However, the department has forecast that there may be some relief from the rain on Monday. 

All schools and colleges in Patna and Darbhanga are closed till Tuesday. The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert in 9 districts of Orange and 5 districts in the state. 

The Bihar government has demanded two choppers from the Indian Air Force to airlift people stranded in the flood-affected areas and drop food packets. Along with this, the government has also demanded to give water dispenser from the Air Force.

There are worse conditions in Patna. The entire city has been transformed into a big lake. Lower areas like Rajendra Nagar and Pataliputra Colony have been flooded. Many hospitals, shops, markets in the city have been inundated. Traffic has been badly affected. It has become difficult for people to leave the house. 

Thousands of people are stranded in flood waters after torrential rains. Between 6 and 7 feet of waterlogging, people’s water and ration have been exhausted. Except the first floor of the house, people are now taking shelter on the second floor and roofs. On Sunday, 150 girls were evacuated from Girls Hostel in Rajendranagar.
