RailTel Appoints Ms. Sarika Aggarwal Synrem as Chief Vigilance Officer

RailTel Corporation of India Limited has appointed Ms. Sarika Aggarwal Synrem as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the company. Her appointment, approved by the Ministry of Railways, is for an initial tenure of three years from the date she assumes charge or until further orders. Ms. Synrem took charge on November 21, 2025, and has since joined RailTel’s Senior Management team.

Ms. Synrem is a 2001-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer with more than two decades of experience in defence finance, governance, programme evaluation, capacity building, and revenue administration. Her extensive expertise is expected to further strengthen RailTel’s vigilance framework and organisational integrity.

RailTel and NBCC Signs MoU for Data Centre Projects in India and Overseas

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NBCC (India) Ltd., a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, for strategic collaboration in the development and execution of Data Centre projects both in India and abroad. The MoU was signed in the presence of Sh. Sanjai Kumar, CMD/RailTel, Sh. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD/NBCC, Sh. Raj Kumar Chaudhary CMD NHPC, Dr. Devesh Tyagi CEO NIXI, Sh. Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, IPS, Addl. CP Delhi, Sh. Rajeev Ranjan Retd IAS (TN) and senior officials from their organization.

Under the terms of the MoU, RailTel and NBCC will work jointly to execute Data centre projects from concept to commissioning, combining their core competencies and operational strengths.

Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has granted “Navratna Status” to NHPC, SJVN, RailTel and Solar Energy Corporation of India.

With the grant of ‘Navratna’ status, the company should benefit in enhancing the market credibility and in undertaking larger-size PPP projects. NHPC is a CPSE with annual turnover of Rs. 8405 crores and net profit of Rs. 3744 crores for FY 2023-24. SJVN is a CPSE with an annual turnover of Rs. 2833 crores and net profit of Rs 908 crores for FY 2023-24. RCIL is a CPSE with an annual turnover of Rs. 2622 crores and net profit of Rs. 246 crores for FY 2023-24.

RailTel received the prestigious Governance Now PSU IT Awards 2023 in the “Cyber Security Champion’ and “Cybersecurity and Data Protection & Data Centre Excellence” categories. Ms. Haritima Jaipuriar, GGM/IT & CISO, was also honoured with the ‘Digital Security Leader (CISO) of the year Award.

RailTel won the Cybersecurity Champion Award in recognition of its successful implementation of secure configuration management, firewall deployment, and intrusion prevention systems at the G20 Summit in New Delhi, effectively preventing unauthorized access and activities within the event’s network environment.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd (RailTel) and Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), a PSU under Department of Atomic Energy, signed MOU to establish a collaborative partnership in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies and electronics equipment manufacturing.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Sanjai Kumar, CMD, RailTel and Dr Anesh Kumar Sharma, Director (Technical), ECIL and senior official from RailTel and ECIL.

The MoU lays down a framework to synergise the professional capabilities of RailTel and ECIL by leveraging mutual strengths and capabilities in the field of ICT, Homeland Security, Cloud Services, Mission Critical Communication and electronic equipment manufacturing related to safety critical application to efficiently serve technological needs of the country and to jointly collaborate in the field of strategic electronics in domestic and international projects.
