Having assumed charge on January 12, 2023, his three and a half years at the helm marked a highly transformative phase for the company. Through visionary leadership and strategic direction, he guided NLCIL to new milestones across its mining, power generation, and renewable energy sectors, significantly enhancing operational performance, financial strength, and project execution.</p>
<p>Under his leadership, NLCIL aggressively expanded its green footprint by launching initiatives in Green Hydrogen, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Pumped Storage Projects, while also venturing into the critical minerals sector to secure long-term assets. This clear focus on sustainable growth and energy transition resulted in an unprecedented rise in market capitalization, reflecting deeply reinforced trust from investors, financial institutions, and business partners. Long-pending projects were expedited, and a strong culture of project management excellence, mine productivity, and digital transformation was successfully established.</p>

Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) for the development of renewable energy projects in Uttar Pradesh. In the exchange filing,  Coal India Ltd has inter-alia, accorded approval for the incorporation of Joint Venture Company between Coal India Limited (ClL) and U.P. Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) for development of renewable energy projects in Uttar Pradesh. The name and date of incorporation shall be intimated in due course. However, incorporation of JVC is subject to approval by UP Government, DIPAM and Ministry of Coal.</p>
<p>The purpose of the joint venture is to undertake development, construction, operation and maintenance of renewable energy projects (solar, floating solar, PSP, wind and allied activities) in Uttar Pradesh and sale of power as per applicable law or policies. The shareholding of the JV company is 51% of Coal India Ltd (Balance 49% equity stake by U.P. Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited UPRVUNL).</p>

These agreements mark the commencement of development for two major pumped storage projects — Hasdeo Bango (800 MW) and Kurund (1000 MW) — in the state.</p>
<p>The MoUs were signed in the presence of Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), NHPC, by Shri Rajat Gupta, Executive Director (SBD &amp; C), NHPC, along with Shri Rohit Yadav, Secretary (Energy), Government of Chhattisgarh, and Shri Sanjeev Kumar Katiyar, Managing Director of CSPGCL. The signing ceremony underscored a shared commitment to strengthening India’s energy infrastructure and promoting sustainable storage solutions.</p>
