NTPC, PGCIL, REC, PFC keen to quit PTC India as its promoter

Four public sector undertakings — NTPC, Power Grid Corporation of India, PFC and NHPC — are its key shareholders and all of them are promoters of the PTC India Ltd’s, the leading provider of power trading solutions in India established in the year 1999 as a Government of India initiated Public-Private Partnership. They want to give up that role to ringfence the companies from any fallout from the PTC India inquiry. They plan to restrict their participation in PTC India’s affairs, such as board representation. They own a little over 16 per cent of PTC India Ltd. However, the process to do so could take a long time and may need amendments to the existing shareholder agreements.

PTC India Financial Services Q2FY24 net profit rises to ₹59.77 crore

-PTC India Financial Services (PFS) declared Financial Performance for the Quarter and Half year ended 30th September 2023-

Mumbai, October 31 st 2023: PTC India Financial Services Limited (PFS), a leading financial institution in sustainable green infrastructure finance declared its Financial Performance for the Quarter and Half year ended 30th September 2023. The Profit after Tax (PAT) increased to ₹ 59.77 crore for Q2FY24 against ₹ 36.76 crore for Q1FY24 and ₹ 52.66 crore for Q2FY23.

Company’s NIM (Net Interest Margin) improved to 4.40% for H1FY24 compared to 4.28% a year ago. Also Capital Adequacy ratio stood at 38.58% hereby providing strong cushion for growth and expansion. Further the Return on Asset improved to 3.13% for Q2FY24 and 2.57% for H1FY24 compared to 2.35% in H1FY23.

PTC India plans to provide 24×7 power trading solutions: CMD

PTC India Limited is planning to provide round-the-clock (RTC) power offerings by “blending” green energy with thermal, its CMD Rajib Kumar Mishra has said. The offerings will also include storage solutions, the official made the remarks at the company’s 24th Annual Day in the national capital.

PTC India aims to provide round-the-clock power offerings by blending renewable energy with thermal generation and storage solutions,” Mishra said.

PTC is a public-private partnership with major PSUs of the power ministry as promoters. It undertakes trading activities that include long-term trading of power generated from large power projects as well as short-term trading. Money Control
