Currently serving as the Executive Director (Operations) at the Damodar Valley Corporation, Shri Chaitanya Prakash was selected by the board ahead of ten other contenders who were competing for the prestigious leadership role.</p>
<p>Shri Chaitanya Prakash brings a wealth of specialized expertise and extensive experience in power sector operations to his new appointment. Throughout his distinguished career at Damodar Valley Corporation, one of India&#8217;s oldest and largest multi-purpose river valley projects, he has successfully managed significant installed generation capacities. His proven track record in large-scale utility management is expected to drive operational excellence at NLC India Limited.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: MS Reference Sans Serif, serif;">NLC India Ltd has formulated its Corporate Plan 2030, under which it has proposed a massive capex of Rs 82,174 crore for enhancing mining, power generation, and diversification businesses. The company is chalking out plans to expand its lignite mining capacity from the current 30.10 mtpa (million tonnes per annum) to 40.10 mtpa, as well as enhance its coal mining capacity from 20 mtpa to 44.00 mtpa by 2030. It also aims to achieve a total power generation capacity of 17,171 MW by the same period, comprising lignite, coal-based energy, and renewable energy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: MS Reference Sans Serif, serif;">As a significant step towards sustainable growth, we are proud to announce the formulation of a Corporate Plan that extends to 2030. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has drawn up capital expenditure plans of around Rs 70,000 crore by 2030 to boost power generation capacity from 6,700 MW at present to 16,000 MW, its chairman R N Singh said on Friday. He said DVC will increase its coal-fired power generation capacity through brownfield expansion, while it also plans to invest in the renewable energy sector, Singh said.</p>
<p>Speaking at the Bengal Power Conclave organised by IEEMA here, Singh said &amp;quot;DVC will make a capital expenditure of Rs 70,000 crore in augmenting power generation capacity by 2030. The present installed capacity of 6,700 MW will go up to 16,000 MW&amp;quot;.</p>
