Therefore following further precautionary measures are required to be taken by all educational institutions and examination boards under the Ministry of HRD.

1. All ongoing examinations may be rescheduled after 31st March 2020,this would include CBSE NIOS as also University examinations.

2. All evaluation work may be rescheduled after 31st March, this would include evaluation work of CBSE, NIOS as also University exams.

3. Since JEE mains may require travel by examinees to different towns and the dates may clash with rescheduled CBSE and other board exams therefore, JEE mains should be rescheduled and new date of JEE mains will be announced on 31st March after reassessment of situation.

All educational institutions and examination boards have been requested to maintain regular communication with the students and teachers through electronic means and keep them fully informed so that there is no anxiety amongst the students, teacher and parents.

All Institutions have also been requested to notify helpline numbers/emails which student can access for their queries.

On Wednesday however, he had said the exams will be conducted as per the schedule after the CBSE announced it has postponed exams till 31 March.

Tribhuvaneshwar Saran Singh Deo, Health Minister of Chhattisgarh, said the state has the capacity to treat 450 patients infected by the novel coronavirus. Deo further said the state was equipped to quarantine 1,500 patients and another 60 hospital beds have also been facilitated in this regard.

The state health department also formed ‘First Rapid Response Team’ on 27 January and started issuing advisories for awareness.

“Till date there has been no confirmed case of coronavirus in Chhattisgarh, yet I want to reassure my people that we are fully equipped to deal with any eventuality. I request you all to be cautious and follow all the necessary precautions. We are in it together,” tweeted Deo.

Every week we are taking random samples from various sites and testing them, so far we have no case of community transmission,” Dr Raman Gangakhedkar, head of ICMR- NIV said.

For now, tests are being conducted in 52 sites across the country. Gangakhedkar said that the number of sites will be increased to 100 in the coming weeks.

A source told that Varun and Natasha had zeroed in on Thailand for their destination wedding, which later got shifted to Jodhpur and then finally to Mumbai. Now the plan stands cancelled for now amid coronavirus spread. They have, the report added, reverted to their first choice, Thailand.

The source added, “The initial plan was to have an intimate wedding on a private island in Thailand, but it was scrapped last month in favour of a destination wedding in Jodhpur. Eventually, they called that off too and were considering having a low-key ceremony in Mumbai. But looking at the current scenario, they have decided to tentatively push the shaadi to November and have reverted to their original choice of destination — Thailand.”

Richa and Ali, too, decided to have an April wedding in Delhi but have reportedly decided to postpone it. Their wedding was also expected to see many of their overseas friends, some being noted actors and film personalities from the US and Europe to attend.

A source told, “Many of their guests were to fly in from the US and Europe for the do. Also, the couple was hoping to have their nuptials in Delhi, which is currently on a partial lockdown. So, they think it’s best to delay the wedding to later this year.”

The Milan naval exercise was scheduled to be held from March 18-28 and over 40 countries were expected to participate in the exercise.

The exercise has been postponed taking into consideration the “safety of all participants and travel restrictions imposed due to the spread of COVID-19”, officials said.

The Milan 2020 had generated a very enthusiastic response, with Navies around the world having expressed desire to participate, they said, adding the Indian Navy looks forward to schedule the exercise at a later convenient date.

The Indian Navy would like to wholeheartedly thank the numerous navies from near and far for having accepted invitation to participate in the exercise, as also for the unstinted support provided in the run-up to this event, the officials said.

The death toll from China’s new coronavirus epidemic jumped to 2,112 on Thursday after 108 more people died in Hubei province, the hard-hit epicentre of the outbreak.

Most of the deaths were in the provincial capital Wuhan, where the virus first emerged in December, according to the daily update from the Hubei health commission.

More than 74,500 people have now been infected with the new coronavirus nationwide.Hubei health officials said there had been 615 new cases in Wuhan and 13 more elsewhere in the province.

However, the Hubei health commission said it was reducing the number of previously reported cases in a number of cities in the province by 279.

The adjustment meant a net increase on Thursday of 349 new cases across the province.
