Simultaneously, the historic occasion marked major milestones for the 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project, which has been developed by SJVN through its renewable energy arm, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Developed with an investment of approximately 5,492 crore across nearly 5,000 acres, this project stands as India’s largest single EPC solar project under the Domestic Content Requirement category at a single location, showcasing world-class renewable energy infrastructure built entirely on indigenous capabilities. The project is estimated to reduce nearly 2.79 billion kilograms of carbon emissions over its operational life, making a substantial contribution toward India’s climate action commitments.

The mega event was graced by the Governor of Rajasthan, Sh. Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sh. Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Sh. Manohar Lal, and Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri. The virtual launch was also joined by top leadership including SJVN Director of Personnel Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director of Finance Sh. Parthajit De, Director of Projects Sh. Rajesh Kumar Chandel, CVO Sh. Pankaj Porwal, CEO of SGEL Sh. Prashant Sharma, and other senior officials. Beyond clean energy generation, these projects have contributed meaningfully to regional socio-economic development, generating more than 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities during construction and continuing to support local livelihoods during the operational phase.

Highlighting yoga’s growing global appeal since the United Nations adopted India’s proposal for an International Day of Yoga in 2014, Jadhav said more than 210 Indian missions abroad, in partnership with the ICCR, will organise yoga events at nearly 2,500 locations worldwide. The celebrations will include programmes at 100 iconic sites across India, the ongoing “Gangotri to Gangasagar: Ganga Tat Yoga Yatra,” and special events in Kolkata ahead of June 21. The minister also noted that a nationwide live yoga session held on June 14 attracted over four lakh participants simultaneously, creating a new Guinness World Record and reflecting the increasing popularity of yoga across the country and the world.

Constructed with an investment of Rs 611 crore, this pipeline-fed terminal is designed to streamline energy logistics across the region. By transitioning to a more efficient supply chain, the facility is expected to slash annual logistics costs by approximately Rs 290 crore.

Economic and Environmental Impact

The Malkapur Terminal is not just an industrial milestone but a major win for environmental sustainability and regional development:

Operational Efficiency: The terminal will provide seamless fuel access to 23 districts across Telangana, ensuring a steady energy supply for local industries and consumers.

Carbon Footprint Reduction: By optimizing transport routes and utilizing pipeline delivery, the project will reduce CO2 emissions by an estimated 27,000 MT annually.

Job Creation: Beyond infrastructure, the terminal is a catalyst for the local economy, generating significant direct and indirect employment opportunities for the youth in the state.

Addressing a function in Vadodara, Gujarat, yesterday evening, Mr Modi reiterated his earlier appeal to revive Covid-era methods such as work from home, online classes, virtual meetings and reduced consumption of petrol and diesel.

Stressing on the need for collective efforts to reduce imports and help the country navigate the crisis, Prime Minister said there is a need for all of us to come together and fulfil our responsibility to reduce the burden on the country’s resources.

He said that India spends lakhs of crores of rupees in foreign exchange to import many products from abroad and the crisis has led to a steep rise in imported goods and severely disrupted global supply chains.

Mr Modi said that his government is working to ensure the impact of the crisis on Indians is minimal.

Prime Minister said that until things return to normal, every small and meaningful step is needed to contribute to the nation’s interest.

He further repeated his appeal to cut down on petrol and diesel consumption by adopting public transport, electric buses, and carpooling.

PM Modi also reiterated his appeal to avoid buying gold until the situation returns to normal.

The Prime Minister highlighted major progress in rail, port and waterway connectivity, including linking the Kashmir Valley and North-East capitals to the rail network. Developed at an investment of around ₹11,200 crore under the PPP model, the Noida International Airport is one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects and is expected to boost regional connectivity and economic growth.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said it was “wonderful to speak with my dear friend President Trump” and expressed his delight that Made in India products will now enjoy reduced tariffs, extending thanks to President Trump on behalf of 1.4 billion Indians. He noted that cooperation between two large economies benefits their people and creates immense scope for mutually beneficial engagement, praised President Trump’s leadership in promoting global peace and prosperity, and reaffirmed India’s support for such efforts. The Prime Minister also said he looks forward to working closely with President Trump to take the India–U.S. partnership to new heights, as both countries continue to expand cooperation across trade, defence, technology and clean energy.

The Prime Minister’s remarks coincided with the 51st edition of the nationwide cycling event, led by Rajasthan Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in Jaipur. Rathore praised PM Modi’s consistent focus on health and well-being, noting the initiative’s success in motivating thousands of citizens and children to participate in fitness activities.

Launched in December 2024, the community-driven movement has seen over 4,000 NaMo Fit India Cycling Clubs and lakhs of participants nationwide, further supported by cycling events organized by the Sports Authority of India across various centres.

Highlighting the global recognition of Indian craftsmanship, PM Modi shared that the gifts he presented to world leaders during the recent G20 Summit showcased Indian art, craft traditions, and local artisans’ skills. He urged people to continue supporting Swadeshi products and to buy and sell goods that reflect the hard work of Indian citizens, fostering a spirit of self-reliance and national pride.

Highlighting the transformation of India’s space ecosystem, Mr. Modi said the sector has become an attractive destination for global investors due to the government’s historic policy reforms. He emphasised that opening the space domain for private innovation has enabled startups and industries to work closely with the scientific community. With the global space economy poised for multi-fold growth, he said India’s youth will gain access to unprecedented opportunities. The Prime Minister also noted that over 300 space startups have emerged in the past six to seven years, powering India’s innovation-driven future. On the occasion, he unveiled Skyroot’s first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, designed to launch satellites into orbit.
