]]> NEW DELHI. Bharat Taxi, a new cooperative-backed ride-hailing platform, began pilot operations in Delhi on Tuesday with more than 51,000 registered drivers. Supported by eight major cooperative organizations, the service aims to offer a dependable alternative to existing platforms such as Ola, Uber, and Rapido. The app currently provides multiple mobility options, including cars, auto-rickshaws, and bikes.

The service is operated by the Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd, a registered cooperative society that commenced its journey on June 6, 2025, with a mission to make transportation more accessible and inclusive. Its promoters include Amul (GCMMF), IFFCO, KRIBHCO, NAFED, NDDB, NCEL, NCDC, and NABARD, along with two elected driver representatives on the cooperative’s board.
