The selection followed interviews with 10 candidates, including senior officials from SAIL and other public-sector organisations. The shortlisted candidates included Executive Directors and Chief General Managers from SAIL, as well as senior finance officials from Indian Railway Finance Corporation and Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited.

A seasoned finance professional, Shri Prasanna Kumar Acharya brings over 28 years of experience across Central and State government organisations as well as the private sector. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Honours) from Utkal University, an LLB from M.S. Law College, Cuttack, a Master’s degree in Commerce from Ravenshaw University, and an MBA. His extensive experience in finance, corporate affairs and organisational management positions him to take on a key leadership role at one of India’s major public sector energy enterprises.

Shri Mitra currently serves as Executive Director and Senior Technical Assistant (STA) / Executive Assistant to the CMD at HPCL. His selection follows a rigorous screening and interview process conducted by the PESB board.

Shri Akhilesh Kumar is currently serving as Additional General Manager (Corporate Finance) at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

The decision was finalized following selection interviews conducted by the PESB panel, where ten high-ranking finance executives from leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) were shortlisted and interviewed.

The PESB has recommended the name of Shri Daya Nand Katyayan for the post of Director (Projects) at Telecommunications Consultants (India) Limited (TCIL). He is currently serving as Senior General Manager and Business Area Head (Faridabad) at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
