Pakistan Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said that he feels a full-fledged war will be fought between India and Pakistan in October or November this year.
According to reports in the Pakistani media, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad made this prediction at an event in Rawalpindi.

“The time of the last battle for the liberation of Kashmir has arrived and this time the war with India will be full and last,” Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said.

He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of creating trouble in Kashmir and said: “It is all because of ‘Hitler’ PM Modi that we smell war over Kashmir”.

He said the fate of Kashmir will be decided by Kashmiris and not by the United Nations.

He said if the United Nations had wanted, a plebiscite could have been held in Kashmir.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad urged the world community to shun its silence on the Kashmir dispute. “We are fortunate that we have an ally like China on our side on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said that PM Modi sees Pakistan as the only obstacle in the way of India’s hegemonic designs in the region and beyond. “It is because of PM Modi that Kashmir is on the brink of destruction today,” he added.

Just three days ago, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad had said that the war would not be one between just India and Pakistan but will encompass the whole of the Indian subcontinent.

US President Donald Trump offers help to mediate in Kashmir issue if needed .

Trump on Thursday said it was up to India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir issue but he was ready to assist if the two countries wanted him to help in resolving the decades-old dispute.

Donald Trump was referring to his last week’s meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, wherein he offered to help to resolve the Kashmir issue.

“It is really up to Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi (to accept the offer of mediation),” Donald Trump told reporters responding to a question on India not accepting his offer of mediation on Kashmir.

“Have they accepted the offer or not?”, Trump sought a clarification when asked about India’s rejection of his mediation offer.

TRUMP ON MODI

“I think they are fantastic people – (Imran) Khan and (Narendra) Modi – I mean, I would imagine they could get along very well, but if they wanted somebody to intervene, to help them…. and I spoke with Pakistan about that and I spoke frankly in (sic) India about it,” Donald Trump said.

He said that the issue of Kashmir had been going on for a long time.

When asked how would he “want to resolve the Kashmir issue”, Donald Trump said, “If I can, if they wanted me to, I would certainly intervene.”

Last week, in his joint media appearance with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Oval Office, Donald Trump stunned India by claiming that Prime Minister Modi sought his mediation/arbitration on the Kashmir issue.

Donald Trump claimed that PM Modi had asked for this during their bilateral meeting in Japan in June on the sideline of the G-20 Summit.

India immediately denied the claim and made it clear that the Kashmir issue was never discussed between PM Modi and Donald Trump.

Pakistan agreed to build a bridge on the zero line of the Kartarpur Corridor to provide all-weather connectivity, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement

after second round of talks over the Kartarpur corridor for Sikh pilgrims a statement said pak agreed on no restriction .

India is already constructing a bridge on the zero line; Pakistan, however, had been insisting on constructing a causeway, which India believes, would act as a barrier, directing more flood water towards India.

“…Pakistan side agreed, in principle, to build a bridge at the earliest. Pending the construction of a bridge over the old Ravi creek by Pakistan on their territory, India offered to make interim arrangements for making the corridor operational in November 2019, given the historic importance of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji,” the Foreign Ministry said in the statement.

Both countries agreed to allow visa-free travel for Indians and those who have Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) cards, the statement said.

“Throughout the year, 5,000 pilgrims will be allowed to visit Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara per day..Pakistan highlighted the infrastructural constraints on their side and conveyed that they may be able to accommodate many of the Indian proposals in a phased manner,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The Indian delegation for the talks today was led by the Home Ministry’s Joint Secretary (Internal Security) SCL Das and the Foreign Ministry’s Joint Secretary (Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran) Deepak Mittal, while the 20-member Pakistani delegation was led by Mohammad Faisal, spokesperson of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.

Once built, the corridor will connect the Darbar Sahib in Pakistan’s Kartarpur with the Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district and facilitate visa-free movement of Indian Sikh pilgrims. The pilgrims will require just a permit to visit Kartarpur Sahib, an important Sikh shrine established in 1522 by the faith’s founder Guru Nanak Dev.
