India Showcases Energy Capabilities at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok

India showcased its energy capabilities at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, with Ambassador of India to Thailand, Shri Puneet Agrawal, inaugurating the India Pavilion and interacting with representatives of Indian PSUs and private-sector companies. ONGC Director (Technology & Field Services) Shri Vikram Singh welcomed the Ambassador and represented ONGC at the event, where the company highlighted its focus on exploration, indigenous production, technology and next-generation energy solutions. GAIL CMD Shri Deepak Gupta, along with senior GAIL officials, also welcomed the Ambassador at the India Pavilion. Being held from September 14 to 17, Gastech 2026 brings together global energy leaders and policymakers to discuss natural gas, LNG, low-carbon solutions, electrification, AI, energy security and decarbonisation.

NEW DELHI: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) has appointed Dr. Archna Thakur as a Non-Official Independent Director on its Board, following approval from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Her appointment will be for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The appointment marks another step in ONGC’s efforts to strengthen its corporate governance and strategic leadership.

Dr. Archna Thakur brings a strong academic and professional profile to the Board. She holds a Doctorate in International Politics from Himachal Pradesh University and is a Gold Medalist in Master’s in Political Science. Her expertise is expected to contribute to Board-level deliberations, governance and strategic oversight as ONGC continues to play a key role in India’s energy sector. As India’s most prolific offshore hydrocarbon region, the area is critical to national energy security. Building on recent progress at Mumbai High, the collaboration will deploy advanced technologies and global expertise to maximize recovery efficiency, moderate natural decline, and sustain long-term oil and gas output. Under the terms of the agreement, ONGC will retain complete ownership and full operational control of all assets.

NEW DELHI. Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited and Oil India Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at India Energy Week 2026 in Goa to explore opportunities for collaboration in oil and gas exploration. The agreement, signed by senior officials of both companies, provides a framework for technical cooperation and evaluation of joint participation in exploration activities, particularly under the Open Acreage Licensing Policy Round X and future bid rounds across Indian sedimentary basins. Officials said the partnership will combine the expertise of both PSUs to improve exploration efficiency and contribute to strengthening India’s energy security.

The agreement was formally inked by Shri Dinesh Singh, Chief General Manager (Geology), ONGC, and Shri D. S. Manral, Executive Director (E&D), OIL.
