ONGC CSR Brings Robotic Knee Surgery to BHU

Varanasi’s BHU Trauma Centre has become India’s first government hospital to adopt non-CT-based robotic knee surgery technology, thanks to ONGC’s CSR initiative . The state-of-the-art system recently completed its first successful surgery on a 74-year-old patient.

This advanced platform offers high precision, faster recovery, and reduced pain. To ensure accessibility, ONGC is also sponsoring surgical consumables for 100 economically vulnerable patients, allowing them to access world-class orthopaedic care under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Govt and ONGC Join Hands to Strengthen Eklavya Model Residential Schools

NEW DELHI. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to support infrastructure development and capacity building of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across the country. The agreement, signed in New Delhi, will be implemented under ONGC’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, with the company committing ₹28 crore to enhance educational facilities, learning resources and institutional capabilities of EMRS that cater to students from tribal communities.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tribal Affairs Secretary Ms. Ranjana Chopra stated that the funding would be utilised to improve academic quality, teaching infrastructure and overall development of tribal students. She emphasized that EMRS are envisioned as aspirational centres of excellence, providing education comparable to the best institutions in the country. The collaboration is expected to bridge educational gaps in remote and tribal areas and contribute to the government’s broader goals of inclusive growth, social empowerment and long-term capacity building among tribal youth.
