The award was presented to REC by Shri Manohar Lal Ji, Honorable Union Minister of Power and Housing and Urban Affairs. Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Shri Dinesh Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and current Rajya Sabha MP, Shri Suresh Kumar Kashyap, Lok Sabha MP, and Shri Pankaj Agrawal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, were also present on the occasion. Shri Jitendra Shrivastava, IAS, CMD of REC, received the award.

It is a matter of immense pride that REC has earned this distinction among all Central Public Sector Enterprises, subordinate offices, and organizations under the Ministry in the power sector.

This achievement is a testament to REC’s sustained commitment to promoting, propagating, and effectively implementing Hindi as the official language, as well as to the collective efforts of its officers and employees. This prestigious honor recognizes REC’s exemplary work in ensuring effective compliance with the provisions of the Official Language Policy, fostering a work culture that encourages the use of Hindi, and successfully implementing innovative initiatives at the national level.

This award is a matter of pride and inspiration for the entire REC family. This award not only establishes the organization’s excellent work culture at the national level but also underscores REC’s leading role in official language implementation.

The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic and dignified participation of employees from various departments of ECL Headquarters. The primary objective of the programme was to acquaint participants with the techniques of typing in Hindi on computers and to promote the effective use of Hindi in official correspondence and day-to-day office work.

During the training session, participants were introduced to various aspects of Hindi typing, including Unicode-based typing methods, keyboard layouts, and practical techniques for carrying out official work efficiently in Hindi. Hands-on practice sessions enabled participants to gain practical experience and enhance their proficiency in Hindi typing.

The participants attended the sessions with keen interest and actively engaged in the practical exercises, making the programme both informative and interactive. The workshop helped strengthen their confidence in using Hindi as an official language in digital work environments.

The Official Language Department of ECL continues to organise such capacity-building initiatives from time to time to promote the effective implementation of the Official Language Policy of the Government of India and to encourage greater use of Hindi in official communication across the organisation.

In his address, Mr. Verma stressed upon the need of implementation of the Official Language (Rajbhasha) in daily official functions, documentation, and communication. He urged all departments to adopt bilingual/trilingual communications in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.  The Executive Directors gave suggestions regarding enhancing use of Rajbhasha in more official communications.

The session comprised a brief presentation by Ms. Lolati Toppo, AGM (PR-Rajbhasha) on the activities of Rajbhasha Department. Ms. Archana Satpathy, GM (PR) & CoC and Member Secretary (OLIC) elaborated on the various check points pertaining to implementation of Rajbhasha.
