										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mr. Sandeep Poundrik, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India held an interaction session with the executives of SAIL’s Odisha Group of Mines (OGoM) and Jharkhand Group of Mines (JGoM) at Gopabandhu Auditorium of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 7<sup>th</sup> January, 2026. Mr. Amarendu Prakash, Chairman and Managing Director, SAIL, Mr. Abhijeet Narendra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India, Mr. Manish Raj Gupta, Director (Technical, Projects &amp; Raw Materials) SAIL with additional Charge of CMD, RINL and Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, RSP were present on the dais. The interaction session aimed at preparing and implementing roadmap for achieving 100 MTPA iron ore production from the mines of SAIL by 2031. Around 400 executives from Mines and RSP attended the session.</p>

<p>Addressing the gathering, Mr. Poundrik said that with the Government of India’s strong focus on enhancing domestic steel production, the Indian steel market is witnessing rapid expansion, leading to a corresponding increase in demand for iron ore. “This presents a significant opportunity for SAIL to leverage its vast mining capabilities by enhancing production, improving operational efficiencies and adopting modern mining technologies,” he added. Emphasising the critical role of individuals across all levels, Mr. Poundrik urged the collective to instil a sense of pride and ownership in order to set new benchmarks of excellence.</p>
<p>Mr. Amarendu Prakash, in his address, said that when the need is strong, outcomes inevitably follow. “When Dreams transform into plans, and once plans are in place, progress begins itself,” he added.</p>

<p>Mr. Vikas Manwati, ED (JGoM) made a detailed presentation on ‘SAIL@100MTPA Iron ore-Risks, Readiness and the Way forward’ on the occasion. The Secretary (Steel) reviewed the performance, bottlenecks and future road maps of each of the mines and emphasised upon optimal utilisation of the mineralised area. He also stressed upon expediting the timeframe for implementation of projects.</p>
<p>Earlier, Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines, OGoM-CMLO) welcomed the gathering. Mr. Malla Srinivasu, CGM (BOM-CMLO) proposed a formal vote of thanks.</p>
<p>It is noteworthy that Mr. Poundrik accompanied by the Senior Officers arrived at Rourkela in the morning before proceeding to the interaction session. He was accorded a guard of honour at the airport by the RSP CISF unit.</p>
<p>The visiting dignitaries returned to New Delhi in the afternoon. A Guard of Honour was presented to the Secretary Steel at Rourkela House before departure.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A comprehensive booklet on ‘Monsoon Preparation Plan for Odisha Group of Mines-CMLO’ was released by Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines, OGOM-CMLO), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects) and Mr. Rajesh Dasgupta, CGM (F&amp;A) in a programme organized at the ED (Mines) Conference Hall on 23<sup>rd</sup> December, 2025. The programme was attended by Mr. Anand Kumar, CGM, Mines (Projects, OGoM-CMLO), Mr. Joydev Chattopadhyay, CGM (RP&amp;E, OGoM-CMLO), and many senior officers of the pant.</p>
<p>Addressing the gathering, the senior officers highlighted the significance of the booklet and urged all concerned to strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines to optimize mining operations and minimize monsoon-related risks.</p>
<p>The booklet aims to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable mining operations during the challenging monsoon season in the region. For the first time, key aspects of operational readiness, site-specific best practices and innovative solutions have been consolidated in a single document. The initiative reflects systematic planning, adoption of modern technologies and environmentally responsible practices to mitigate monsoon-related challenges.</p>
<p>The booklet also showcases the collective efforts of mining professionals, engineers, safety personnel and field teams whose dedication ensures operational continuity and safety. It serves as a practical reference by documenting challenges faced, mitigation measures implemented and valuable lessons learned, thereby promoting continuous improvement.</p>
<p>The booklet is expected to be a useful guide for mining professionals at all levels, from senior management to field operators, and will further strengthen preparedness, resilience and operational continuity during the monsoon season.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The signing of Annual Accounts of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) including Odisha Group of Mines (OGM) was held on 7<sup>th</sup> May, 2025 at Manthan Conference Hall marking culmination of another successful fiscal year in the history of RSP. The finalized financial statements of RSP were signed by Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, RSP and Mr. A.K Behuria, ED (F&amp;A), RSP and CA G.C.Das, on behalf of the Statutory Auditors, M/s GNS &amp; Associates.Present on the occasion were Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. B R Palai, ED (Works), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED(MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines) and  Senior officers of F&amp;A and alongside esteemed auditors from Messer GNS &amp; Associates.</p>
<p>Addressing the gathering, Mr. Verma expressed happiness over the successful closure of the Annual Accounts for the fiscal year 2024-25. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the Finance &amp; Accounts team for their tireless efforts and acknowledged the independent and timely audit completion by M/s GNS &amp; Associates. Recognizing auditors as more than just compliance enforcers, Mr. Verma emphasized that their observations and suggestions are constructive and instrumental in the continuous improvement journey of the plant. “These inputs will be carefully examined and appropriate corrective actions will be taken,” he assured. He also called upon all departments to take the audit observations seriously and stressed the need to sensitize teams towards financial discipline.</p>
<p>Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Behuria, expressed gratitude to the auditors for successful and timely completion of audit for FY 2024-25. He highlighted the exhaustive scrutiny and analysis undertaken by the auditors, welcomed the various suggestions given by them and acknowledged their role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements.</p>
<p>The representative of M/s GNS &amp; Associates expressed their happiness over the cooperation received from RSP management for successful and timely completion of audit. He also lauded RSP management for its unwavering dedication towards cost reduction and cost control measures adopted during Fiscal Year 2024-25.</p>
<p>The function was coordinated by Ms. Sushmit Kaur, Deputy Manager (F&amp;A) Main Accounts.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Barsuan Iron Mines and Taldihi Iron Mines belonging to Odisha Group of Mines of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant under its CSR educational initiatives distributed 875 School Bags and Study Kits to the students of Tensa U.P. School and Chordhara High School.</p>
<p>At a function held in Tensa U P School on 8<sup>th</sup> November 2024, Mr. Himansu Mishra, CGM (Mines- BIM-TIM-KIM), launched the distribution of 285 school bags along with study kits to the students. While addressing the students Mr. Mishra emphasized upon the importance of education and assured the students of continued support to help them succeed in life. Ms. Anita Purty, Sarpanch (Tensa Gram Panchayat) was the Guest of Honour. Present on the occasion were, Mr. N C Panda, GM (HR), Mr. B Dutta, AGM (Civil)-CSR, and Mr.  P.K. Parida, CRCC (Tensa Circle).</p>

<p>In a similar function held at Chordhara High School, Mr. Amit Kumar Tiwary, AGM (Mining- TIM) initiated the  distribution of 590 school bags with study kits to the students. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were by Ms. Rashanti Lugun, Sarpanch (Chordhara Gram Panchayat), Mr. B. Dutta, AGM (Civil)-CSR and Mr. G.S. Pallai, Deputy Manager (Mining).</p>
<p>The Headmasters of both the schools extended all necessary support and expressed their gratitude in their formal vote of thanks.  The function in both the places were coordinated by Mr. Amiya Ranjan Rout, Deputy Manager (Civil-CSR-BIM-TIM).</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 155<sup>th</sup> Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, was celebrated at Tensa by the Barsua and Taldihi Iron Mines of Odisha Group of Mines of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 2<sup>nd</sup> October. Mr. P.C. Barua, GM (Mines) presided over the function. Present on the occasion were Mr. N.C. Panda, GM ( HR- BIM, TIM, KIM) and Mr. Ullastigga, AC (CISF). The function was attended by several senior officers, union representatives, workers, CISF personnel and school students.</p>
<p>The programme commenced with the garlanding of the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Sashtri, whose birth anniversary also falls on the same day.</p>
<p>Speaking on the occasion Mr. Barua reflected on the ideals and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, emphasizing upon his message of peace, cleanliness, and service to society.</p>
<p>Mr. N C Panda emphasized upon the importance of cleanliness and social responsibility  and urged all to uphold the values of the great leaders of the nation.</p>
<p>Several participants, including union representatives and students, shared their insights on the legacy of Gandhiji and Shastriji, stressing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and upholding their values.</p>
<p>To mark the occasion, a mass cleanliness drive was conducted in Tensa Township. Executives, workers, CISF personnel, students, and local residents actively participated in the program, contributing to the upkeep of their surroundings.</p>
