More than 230 villagers benefit from the Multi-disciplinary Health Camp organized by Rourkela Steel Plant in Nuagaon Block

A Multi-disciplinary Health Camp was organised by SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Government U P School, Fuljhar village in Nuagaon Block on 6th December. The camp was conducted by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department in association with the Medical and Health Services (M&HS) Department of RSP. Dr. Jayanta Kumar Acharya, CMO In-charge (M&HS), Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), Mr. B Mallick, GM(CSR), Mr. R S Bara, DGM (CSR), Mr. T B Toppo, DGM (CSR), Mr. B Jena, AGM (CSR), Mr. S K Sukula, Deputy Manager (CSR) and others officials of RSP visited the camp and interacted with the villagers.

The team of doctors of RSP who examined the patients were Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Sahu (Surgery), Dr. B S Roychoudhury (O&G), Dr. Debashish Ray (Medicine), Dr. Anindita Debta, (Ompthalmology), Dr. Avilash Sahoo (Pediatrics), Dr. Geetansh Saini, (Ompthalmology). They were assisted by Mr. Lingaraj Pradhan (CPSK), Ms. Banita Jalli (Pharmacist), Ms. Purnima Thakur and Mr. B K Mohapatra, CSR Coordinator.

233 patients were examined in the camp and were provided free medicines and consultation. Besides, 12 patients were identified for further treatment at Ispat General Hospital under various CSR schemes.

It is worth mentioning here that the Medical camps are being organised by RSP in peripheral villages not only reach out to the people living in remote villages but also extend expensive surgical interventions for free treatment at IGH to the identified people suffering from grave ailments.

SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant imparts Mushroom Cultivation Training to 20 persons from Nuagaon Block

A two-day Mushroom cultivation training programme was held by CSR Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Institute of Periphery Development (IPD) on 13^th and 14^th November 2024. Mr. Hara Prasad Pattnaik, GM (Town Engieering) presided over the valedictory function and handed over the certificates to the trainees for successful completion of the training programme. 20 members of Self Help Groups of Baraigoda, Kadbibahal, Tumapahad and Ramakata villages of Nuagaon Block attended the training programme.

The trainees were provided with theoretical inputs, practical demonstration and hands-on training for Mushroom Cultivation. After the completion of training programme, each trainee was given self made mushroom growing kit bag and a bottle of mushroom seed to cultivate at their respective places and motivate others for the same. All the trainees expressed their satisfaction at the end of the training.

Mr. T. Vengra and Mr. B. Ekka, the Master Trainers from the CSR department along with trained Mushroom Training instructor, Ms. Kamala Toppo of Suman SHG from Dalposh village conducted the training sessions.

Mr. Bivabasu Malik, GM (CSR) delivered the welcome address, Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR) highlighted the CSR activities of RSP. Ms. Richa Sudhiram, Deputy Manager (CSR) proposed a formal vote of thanks. The function was coordinated by Mr. B. Ekka, Senior Field Assistant (CSR) and CSR team.
