										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>GUWAHATI.</strong> NTPC Bongaigaon organised a day-long Communication Workshop on “Corporate Communication and its Changing Paradigms” for mid and senior level executives of its 750 MW power station, focusing on communication&#8217;s evolving role in today’s dynamic business environment.</p>
<p>The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, in the presence of Shri Anurag Gupta, GM (O&amp;M), NTPC Bongaigaon, who also addressed the participants during the inaugural session. Shri Maitra emphasised communication&#8217;s importance as a strategic tool in shaping organisational perception. Shri Maitra highlighted the need to adapt to the rapidly changing media landscape and stressed that communication must be effective, timely, and responsible.</p>

<p>Shri Anurag Gupta, GM (O&amp;M), in his address, highlighted the importance of clear and structured communication in operational excellence. He underlined that effective communication plays a vital role not only in external engagement but also in ensuring seamless coordination within plant operations. He encouraged participants to integrate communication practices into their day-to-day work, emphasising clarity, accountability and responsiveness as key attributes.</p>
<p>Earlier, Shri Roshan Dungdung, DGM (HR), delivered the opening address and set the context for the workshop.</p>

<p>The workshop featured distinguished speakers including Shri K. M. Prashanth, Former GM, Corporate Communication, NTPC Limited; Shri Sachin Gogoi, Senior Media Person; and Ms. Mitu Samarnath Jha, CEO, Eminence Strategy Consulting, who shared insights on contemporary communication practices.</p>
<p>Shri K. M. Prashanth spoke on the three essential pillars of communication—listening, reading, and writing—and elaborated on various dimensions of communication with references to international models and evolving industry practices.</p>

<p>Shri Sachin Gogoi highlighted the nuances of media engagement and emphasised the role of the power sector in a global context, noting that organisations like NTPC must position themselves effectively in the changing communication landscape. He also spoke about media expectations and stressed that organisations must consider the broader perspective while disseminating information through the media.</p>
<p>Ms. Mitu Samarnath Jha spoke on reputation management and discussed how organisations can leverage emerging tools such as Artificial Intelligence for impactful storytelling and brand building. She further emphasised the importance of crisis communication and highlighted the need for organisations to have a well-defined crisis communication plan to effectively manage unforeseen situations.</p>
<p>All the speakers shared valuable insights on branding strategies for enhancing visibility among stakeholders. The sessions focused on how organisations can effectively communicate with stakeholders in a fast-evolving digital ecosystem while maintaining consistency, credibility, and clarity in messaging. Case studies and practical examples were shared to illustrate how communication strategies are adapting to new-age media dynamics.</p>
<p>The workshop was conducted in an interactive format, encouraging dialogue and exchange of ideas among participants. The session was moderated by Shri Madhurjya Singha Lahkar, DGM (Corporate Communication), NTPC Bongaigaon.</p>

During the session, he explained the key provisions of the new labour codes, focusing on their implications for employers, contractors, and workers regarding safety, welfare measures, and statutory compliance. Shri Amit Kumar Asthana, Head of HR, opened the event by reaffirming the organization’s commitment to inclusive workplace practices and labour welfare, while the session saw active participation from Engineers-in-Charge, contract workers, and department heads.</p>
<p>Emphasizing the importance of these reforms, Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project at NTPC Bongaigaon, highlighted that adhering to statutory norms is essential for effective implementation across all levels of the project. This sentiment was echoed by Shri Anurag Gupta, General Manager (O&amp;M), who noted that labour law compliance is a critical factor in maintaining operational safety, high productivity, and the smooth functioning of large industrial establishments.
