NEW DELHI. The Delhi government is planning to introduce two hydrogen fuel cell buses in the national capital as part of its efforts to promote clean energy and sustainable public transportation. Transport Minister Pankaj Singh said the initiative will be undertaken in coordination with NTPC, marking a significant step towards adopting advanced zero-emission technologies. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is currently working on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state-owned power company, which will provide the buses under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Under the proposed arrangement, DTC will bear the operational expenditure at the approved Gross Cost Contract (GCC) rate of Rs 45 per kilometre, while NTPC will support costs beyond this framework through its CSR mechanism. Singh said hydrogen fuel technology represents an important milestone in Delhi’s transition to future-ready and environmentally responsible mobility solutions. He added that collaboration with organisations such as NTPC will help strengthen the city’s public transport network, contribute to cleaner air, and support the broader goal of building a greener and more sustainable future.

NEW DELHI. This summer, the NTPC Limited family is opening its doors to over 3,400 girls from government schools across India for the latest edition of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM). Designed for students aged 10 to 12, this flagship program is much more than just a summer camp; it is a dedicated space where young girls from different corners of the country come together to learn and grow. By providing these students with new experiences and mentorship, NTPC aims to widen their horizons and give them the confidence to dream far beyond their current boundaries.

The GEM 2026 initiative focuses on helping every participant build a strong sense of self and a unique identity. Instead of just focusing on traditional studies, the mission encourages girls to discover their potential and realize that they have the freedom to shape their own futures. This small step taken today acts as a powerful spark for lifelong transformation, ensuring that these young minds have the support they need to turn their “little dreams” into reality. We invite you to follow this journey as we help the next generation of women find their wings and fly.
