Bengaluru, September 17, 2025 — Air India SATS Airport Services (AISATS), through its wholly owned special purpose vehicle (SPV) AISATS Noida Cargo Terminal Private Limited (ANCTPL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afcom Holdings Ltd. to initiate freighter operations at the upcoming Noida International Airport (DXN). This collaboration marks a pivotal stride toward transforming DXN into North India’s premier cargo gateway, complementing major hubs like Delhi and Mumbai, and advancing India’s ambition to become a global trade powerhouse.

More than a routine agreement, this partnership signals a strategic leap in India’s cargo ecosystem, as AISATS’ combines its infrastructure capabilities with Afcom’s growing international freighter network. Through this collaboration, both companies will deliver best-in-class freighter services at DXN airport and launch Afcom’s freighter services at the airport’s Integrated Cargo Terminal, which is part of AISATS’ Multi-Modal Cargo Hub (MMCH). The partnership will expand capacity across diverse cargo verticals including perishables, pharma, e-commerce, high-value and express shipments, directly strengthening North India’s international trade connectivity.

The work at the MMCH at Noida International Airport is progressing rapidly. Spanning 87 acres, it will include a 30-acre Integrated Cargo Terminal (initial capacity: 250,000 MT per annum) and a 57-acre Integrated Warehousing and Logistics Zone. The upcoming hub will include modern trucking facilities, docking bays, and a COSYS+ Cargo Management System that digitizes cargo handling for real-time visibility and transparency.

Mr. Ramanathan Rajamani, CEO, AISATS, remarked, “This MoU with Afcom Holdings is fundamentally reshaping how North India connects with global trade. With Noida International Airport’s strategic location and sophisticated infrastructure, our Integrated Cargo Terminal will become a central link within global supply chains. Together, with Afcom, we are confident of delivering seamless, efficient, and competitive logistics, contributing significantly to economic growth, job creation, and reinforcing India’s role in international trade under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.”

Capt. Deepak Parasuraman, Managing Director, Afcom Holdings Ltd., added, “We are pleased to partner with AISATS to launch our freighter operations at Noida International Airport. This collaboration represents a strategic expansion of our network and strengthens our ability to serve high-growth markets with enhanced efficiency. With AISATS’ world-class cargo infrastructure, we aim to provide a seamless, reliable logistics ecosystem, from North India to the ASEAN region and beyond. This partnership is more than cargo movement, it is a strategic enabler of trade, exporter empowerment, and global supply chain resilience.”

The AISATS – Afcom collaboration provides a sustainable solution for electronics, perishables, auto components, and temperature-sensitive goods, delivering efficiency and competitive advantage to Indian exporters while attracting foreign investment into the logistics and manufacturing sectors. The MMCH at DXN is expected to catalyze regional growth and employment by creating thousands of jobs across logistics, cargo handling, and food processing. With a Coolport planned in Phase 2, the facility will serve as a robust cold-chain infrastructure to minimize post-harvest losses, boost farmer incomes, and enhance India’s agri-export competitiveness. By integrating multimodal capabilities, digital logistics, and sustainability-focused design, the hub is poised to transform Noida International Airport into India’s most future-ready cargo gateway and a critical node in global trade networks.

Under this arrangement, TPTCL will supply 10.8 MW of wind power for NIA, with secured assets from Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL).

TPREL will also develop, operate, and maintain a 13 MW onsite solar power capacity to contribute to the airport’s overall energy needs. Together, TPREL’s wind and solar installations will supply the airport’s sustainable power needs, underscoring Tata Power’s dedication to building sustainable airport infrastructure.

Further bolstering the airport’s operational resilience, Tata Power has undertaken the development of critical dry utilities, including essential electrical infrastructure, and will provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for this infrastructure over a 25-year period to meet the airport’s smart energy requirements. The agreement for the same has already been signed between Tata Power and NIA.

INDIA, Mumbai, October 14, 2024 – Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL) (NSE: HONAUT) has secured a contract to provide its Airfield Ground Lighting (“AGL”) system for the Noida International Airport (“NIA”). These systems will provide visual guidance to aircraft, increasing safety and streamlining operations across the tarmac.

Honeywell’s visual aids will play a crucial role in helping aircraft maneuver the tarmac in difficult weather conditions and will support landing and on-ramp safety. Honeywell’s advanced AGL uses ‘intelligent lighting’ technology, which makes the ground taxi process easier for pilots. AGL will also help pilots improve their own situational awareness by automatically switching lights on and off based on information shared by aircraft surveillance and tracking systems with tower controllers.

Noida International Airport represents a significant leap forward in advancing India’s aviation sector, and we are pleased to have secured this visionary project, ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency with our advanced technology,” said Atul Pai, Managing Director, Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL).

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO, Noida International Airport said, “We are delighted to partner with Honeywell to bring their Airfield Ground Lighting system to Noida International Airport. The implementation of the state-of-the-art system will ensure superior visual guidance and operational efficiency, aligning with our mission to provide a safe and seamless experience for all airport users.”

The project covers the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Honeywell’s AGL system on runway 10L-28R and the associated taxiways at NIA. Honeywell has a broad portfolio of technologies in use at airports across India and also has end-to-end AGL system operations in the country, including design, manufacturing, assembly, installation, commissioning, and service support.

The first phase of the airport will feature one runway and one terminal, with the capacity to handle traffic of 12 million passengers annually. Upon completion of all four development phases, the airport will be able to cater to 70 million passengers per year.
