NMDC Marks One Year of Its Transformation & Innovation Department

NMDC Limited celebrated the first anniversary of its Transformation & Innovation (T&I) Department, established to accelerate strategic projects, drive innovation, and enhance adaptability in an evolving industrial landscape. Within a year, the department has emerged as a catalyst for change, introducing cutting-edge mining technologies to India and strengthening NMDC’s competitive edge. Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD, NMDC, highlighted the department’s achievements, stating that it has not only implemented but also inspired change, paving the way for a future that is agile, technology-driven, and purpose-led. He reaffirmed NMDC’s commitment to accelerating growth through innovation and redefining responsible mining practices to support India’s industrial progress.

The T&I Department’s first year has been marked by significant accomplishments, including the operationalization of the Pellet Plant at Donimalai under the NMDC Partnership Policy, the launch of a Digital Project Management Unit, dust fencing at Donimalai, and preparation of detailed project reports for advanced mining systems such as the In-Pit Crushing and

Conveying (IPCC) system at Bacheli and 190T Dumpers. Work on the Automatic Sampling System across all production units is also underway. Looking ahead, NMDC is set to implement several key projects, including the Stockpile Management and Remote Operation System at Kirandul, In-Pit Modular Crushing at Donimalai, and large-scale infrastructure initiatives such as the 20 MTPA Buffer Stockpile & Blending Yard at Vizag and the 2 MTPA Beneficiation Plant at Kirandul, further solidifying its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

NMDC Limited winning 15 awards at the 15th PRCI Excellence Awards 2025

Hyderabad. NMDC, has been recognised for its outstanding contributions to corporate excellence, inclusive leadership, and social responsibility at the 19th Global Communication Conclave, organised by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) in Goa.

At the two-day event, the awards were presented by distinguished dignitaries, given in the presence of Shri P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Governor of Goa; Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa; Shri Sripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy; and Shri Ganesh Gaonkar, Hon’ble Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly. On behalf of NMDC, Shri P. Jaya Prakash, General Manager (Corporate Communication), along with the Corporate Communication team, received the honours.

NMDC output soars 31% in Q1 Output, Highest-Ever June Volumes

Bengaluru, 2 July 2025: India’s largest iron ore producer, NMDC Limited, has reported its highest-ever June month production since Inception. The company produced 3.57 MnT of iron ore in June 2025, registering a 5% growth over June 2024. It also achieved record sales of 3.58 MnT during the same period.

This robust performance sustained NMDC’s record-breaking momentum in Q1 FY26, delivering its best-ever first quarter with cumulative production of 11.99 MnT, a 31% increase over 9.19 MnT in Q1 FY25 and sales increasing to 11.51 MnT from 10.07 MnT marking a strong 14% year-on-year growth, the best ever Q1 sales.

Commenting on the performance, Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD, said: “Our performance this quarter reaffirms the strength of our strategy and our unwavering commitment to growth. We are steadily advancing towards our vision of achieving annual targets through a balanced approach. With resilience at our core and innovation as our lever, NMDC is well-positioned to lead the next phase of India’s mining and steel journey.”

In recent news, NMDC has opened its new international office in Dubai, UAE to strengthen its global presence. The Dubai office will serve as a strategic hub for NMDC, actively tracking developments in the mineral sectors across the MENA region, Africa, and Australia. This will enable real-time insights, faster decision-making and deeper engagement with international mining partners.

The PESB recommends the name of Shri Abhay Kumar Behuria for the post of Director (Finance) of NALCO.

Behuria has been selected for the post of Director (Finance) of NALCO from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB Selection Board Panel in its selection meeting held on March 17. Out of 12 candidates, two candidates were from SAIL, and one each from KIOCL Limited, NMDC Limited, NALCO, NBCC (India) Limited, MSTC Limited, Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL), MRPL, GAIL (India) Limited, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Limited and Indian Revenue Service. He is serving as Executive Director (Finance and Accounts) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

The performance of the candidates including Shri Satyender Rai was assessed and the Board made recommendation for the post of Director (Production), NMDC.

The above recommendation is subject to the final outcome of the WP No. 14454 of 2024 filed in the Hon’bleHigh Court of Karnataka.

The Selection Meeting was held on 05.06.2024 and in compliance of interim judgement dated 04.06.2024 of
Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka in the matter of WP No. 14454 of 2024, Shri Satyender Rai, Executive Director, NMDC
was not allowed to appear in the Selection Meeting and the result was not finalised by the PESB. Further, in compliance
of the modified interim order dated 05.07.2024 of High Court of Karnataka in this Writ Petition, Shri Satyender
Rai was called for a Selection Meeting scheduled on 13.08.2024 at 10.30 AM. The performance of the candidates including
Shri Satyender Rai was assessed and the Board made recommendation for the post of Director (Production), NMDC.

The above recommendation is subject to the final outcome of the WP No. 14454 of 2024 filed in the Hon’ble
High Court of Karnataka.
