NHPC has been awarded the Best Enterprise Award (Third Place – Navratna Category) at the 36th National Meet of the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), established under the aegis of SCOPE, held on February 11, 2026, in Navi Mumbai. The event, themed “Her Era: Now and Beyond,” celebrated achievements and leadership in advancing women’s empowerment across public sector enterprises. Representing NHPC, Mrs. Reshma Hemrajani, Executive Director (Finance) and Chairperson, WIPS-NHPC, along with Dr. Satarupa Bhattacharjee, General Manager (Medical Services) and General Secretary, WIPS-NHPC, received the award. The recognition underscores NHPC’s sustained commitment to fostering inclusive policies, promoting gender equity and upholding excellence in public sector management.

NHPC Commissions 250 MW Unit at Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project

NEW DELHI. NHPC Limited has announced the commercial commissioning of Unit-3 with a capacity of 250 MW at its flagship 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, located on the Assam–Arunachal Pradesh border. The company said commercial operations of the unit commenced from 00:00 hours on February 1, 2026, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

NEW DELHI. NHPC Limited successfully synchronised the second unit of 250 MW (Unit–3) of its 8×250 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (SLHEP) with the National Grid at 9:00 PM on 21.01.2026.

On the occasion, Shri Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC conveyed his gratitude to the various govt agencies of Govt of India the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam .

The Subansiri Lower HEP will be India’s largest hydroelectric project, supporting national energy requirements .

The project, being developed by Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited—a joint venture of NHPC and JKSPDC—was showcased in detail by Shri M.K. Kashyap, CEO, Ratle HPCL, who briefed the CMD on construction progress, key issues, and project challenges. Shri Ramesh Mukhiya, Managing Director (CVPPL), along with senior officers from Ratle HPCL, also accompanied the CMD during the site review.

Shri Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC, inaugurated a Free Multi-Specialty Health Camp on 19.11.2025 at NHPC’s Corporate Office in Faridabad, in the presence of Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), and Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical). Organized in collaboration with Max Healthcare Institute Limited, New Delhi, the camp provided free consultations across specialties including Gastroenterology, Gynaecology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Eye Care, ENT, and Dental Care, along with diagnostic services such as blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, BMD, PFT, and Audiometry. Shri Gupta appreciated the initiative, emphasizing its value in promoting employee well-being and supporting families in building a healthier future. A total of 155 beneficiaries—including employees, contract workers, security personnel, dependents, and other staff—availed the services offered.

NEW DELHI. Shri Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC, congratulated the HR Team for securing two SHRM Awards (in the PSE category) at the SHRM India Annual Conference (SHRM IAC25) held in New Delhi. NHPC received the 1st Runner-Up Award 2025 for “Excellence in Inclusion & Diversity” and the 1st Runner-Up Award 2025 for “Excellence in Managing Distributed Workforce.” The awards were received at the conference by Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), Shri N.K. Jain, Executive Director (HR) and team of NHPC officers. The same were, later presented to CMD, NHPC by Director (Personnel), NHPC and his team. CMD, NHPC appreciated efforts of the team and lauded the recognition earned for the organization.

Award in Excellence in Managing Distributed Workforce acknowledged NHPC’s continued efforts for grooming and nurturing its employees in challenging working conditions at remotest locations of the country including international Borders, places with Freezing climatic conditions and disruption filled areas as well.
