The three-day festival will showcase over 120 distinguished writers, speakers, thinkers, and performers from more than 10 countries, offering a dynamic blend of voices, stories, and perspectives aimed at inspiring reflection, dialogue, and discovery including special sessions by Godrej DEI Lab that explore the vital themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Staying true to the city’s vibrant spirit, the festival will feature its signature events along with the Great Debate, Book in Focus, indoor and outdoor performances, the Little Festival for Children, and a variety of engaging workshops.

This year, the LitFest will be expanding accessibility with over 15 sessions featuring Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation by Access for All, who will also lead a zine-making workshop for children to encourage empathy. A sensory-friendly tent in the Open-Air Plaza offers a calming zone for neurodivergent children and others, equipped with tactile materials, soft seating, and noise-cancelling tools, supported by trained facilitators.

The prestigious Godrej Literature Live! Awards will be presented across categories such as Fiction, Non-Fiction, Business, and Playwriting. The festival will also bestow its highest honours: the Poet Laureate Award to acclaimed Gujarati poet Sitanshu Yashaschandra, and the Lifetime Achievement Award to celebrated Hindi novelist and poet Vinod Kumar Shukla.

The marathon, flagged off at 6:30 a.m. by the legendary Shri Dilip Vengsarkar, showcased a scenic route through the vibrant city of Mumbai, covering key landmarks like Church Gate Station, Oval Maidan, NCPA, Marine Drive, Bombay High Court, etc. lined with heritage buildings.

More than 5 lakhs of rupees in prizes were awarded to the runners in various categories, adding to the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

Mazdock Mumbai 10K Run was not merely a race; it was an opportunity for individuals of all ages to be a part of history and contribute to the celebration of 250 glorious years of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.

Mr Sanjeev Singhal, Chairman and Managing Director, during his address, applauded the strength, determination and long hours of training that brought all the runners together to make this event historical.

The first edition of the Mazdock Mumbai 10K Run witnessed a stellar turnout, with participants receiving Goodie Bags containing a Premium Dri-fit T-Shirt, Water Sipper, Bandana, and a Waist Pouch. Finishers of both the 10K and 3K categories were awarded dazzling medals, making this event a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Day 1: “Antigone, Interrupted” by Joan Cleville, reimagines Sophocles’ Antigone in a mesmerizing solo performance that explores the strength and vulnerability of the body as a tool for resistance and civil disobedience.

Day 2: “Manodarpan” by Odissi exponent Sharmila Biswas and troupe showcases the captivating stories, portraying all the human weaknesses and strengths, each expressing a certain emotion and its intricacies. It elevates us to a spiritual level, without any reference to gods and goddesses or mythology. Followed by the duet “Converse” – seamlessly blending Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam with Amrita Lahiri and Pavitra Bhat respectively.

Day 3: Performance by danseuse Mahati Kannan, the grand-niece of noted Bharatanatyam exponent Padma Subrahmanyam. Born into a family of musicians and dancers, Kannan is an excellent artiste in her own right. We also witness Bharatanatyam duo Parvathy Menon and Shijith Nambiar in “Dhi – Our Thoughts,” a performance that explores the inner psyche as – “Dhi is a manifestation of our thoughts. Every thought born in one’s mind starts to slowly begin its journey to create a magical world.”
