कहते हैं तीन पहियों की गाड़ी चाहे वो आटो रिक्शा हो या सरकार उसका बैलेंस कभी भी बिगड़ सकता है. महाराष्ट्र में हर रोज यही हो रहा है ..तीन दलों यानि बीजेपी ,शिवसेना शिंदे गुट और एनसीपी अजित पवार गुट की मिली जुली सरकार में एक साल हो गया है लेकिन अब तक पूरा मंत्रिमंडल ही नहीं बन पाया है और आगे बनने की कोई उम्मीद भी नहीं दिखती है. तीन दलों की ये सरकार लगातार अपने ही बोझ तले दबती जा रही है इसलिए हर रोज खबर उड़ती है कि ये सरकार कभी भी गिर सकती है.
असल में 2019 के चुनाव के बाद जब बीजेपी ने अचानक अजित पवार के साथ सुबह पांच बजे ही सरकार बना ली तो वो तीन दिन भी नहीं चल पायी उसके बाद शिवसेना कांग्रेस और एनसीपी की सरकार उदधव ठाकरे की लीडरशिप में बनी .. कुछ दिन बाद ही कोरोना शुरु हो गया तो किसी तरह सरकार 2022 तक खिंच गयी लेकिन जून 2022 में सरकार में कई मतभेद सामने आते गये और आखिरकार बीजेपी ने शिवसेना को तोड़कर एकनाथ शिंदे की लीडरशिप में सरकार बना ली ..आठ महीने तो ये सरकार ठीक चली और जब ये लगने लगा कि सरकार कुछ स्थिर हो रही है तो बीजेपी ने अचानक अजित पवार को एनसीपी से तोड़कर उनको भी सरकार में शामिल कर लिया . बस उसके बाद से सरकार में तीन तिगाड़ा और काम बिगाड़ा शुरु हो गया ..
पहले तो मंत्रिमंडल में किसको क्या मिले इसको लेकर खींचतान चलता रहा तो कई दिनों तक मंत्री बन ही नहीं पाये बाद में जब विस्तार हुआ तो अब तक कुल 42 मंत्री पद में से केवल 28 भी भर पाये हैं बाकी अब भी कई महीनों से खाली है .. पहले सत्ता का बंटवारा केवल बीजेपी और एकनाथ शिंदे के साथ आये करीब 45 विधायकों मे होना था लेकिन अब अजित पवार भी सरकार में आ गये और उनका भी दावा है कि उनके पास भी इतने ही विधायक है सो खींचतान शुरु हो गयी .
मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे को लगना लगा है कि अजित पवार को लाकर उनकी ताकत कम की गयी है इसलिए पहले तो वो नाराज होकर तीन दिन अपने पैतृक गांव चले गये और आने के बाद वीडियो जारी कर कह दिया कि मुझे कोई हटा नहीं सकता .मैं ही अगला मुख्यमंत्री बनूंगा .उधर बीजेपी की तरफ से कार्यकर्ता नाराज है कि उनको कुछ नहीं मिल रहा और बस वो मेहनत कर रहे हैं जबकि मलाई तो एकनाथ शिंदे और अजित पवार के मंत्री काट रहें . बीजेपी की तरफ से भी कहा जा रहा है जल्दी ही बीजेपी का सीएम बनेगा क्योकिं 103 विधायकों के साथ वो सबसे बड़ी पार्टी है . मुख्यमंत्री फिर से देवेन्द्र फणनवीस ही बनेंगे तो तीसरी तरफ अजित पवार कह रहे है कि सीएम तो वो भी बनना चाहते हैं और मौका मिला तो पीछे नहीं हटेंगे यानि एक कुर्सी के तीन दावेदार हो गये है. इसका असर सरकार पर साफ दिखाई दे रहा है .
सरकार में शामिल बीजेपी के अलावा दोनों दल एकनाथ शिंदे की शिवसेना और अजित पवार की एनसीपी के मंत्री कई ऐसे फैसले ले रहे हैं और बयान दे रहे हैं कि उनका बचाव करना मुश्किल हो गया है. पिछली सरकार में फैसला हुआ था कि प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना यानि बीमा योजना का विस्तार किया जाये और यूनायटेड इंशयूरेंस के साथ ही काम किया जाये लेकिन नया मंत्री बनते ही शिंदे गुट के मंत्री ने केबिनट का फैसला ही पलट दिया और इंश्यूरेंस को खत्म करके सीधे बेनिफिट वाले एश्योरेंस को लागू करने कह दिया . असल में इंश्यूरेंस में भुगतान की जिम्मेदारी कंपनी की होती है और उसे कमीशन मिलता है लेकिन अश्यूरेंस में भुगतान सरकार सीधे करती है किसी भी इलाज का . अब निजी अस्पतालों को भरोसा नहीं कि सरकार पैसा देगी इसलिए वो मरीज ले ही नहीं रहे .सबको सरकारी अस्पताल जाने कहा जा रहा है जाहिर है कभी भी ये पूरा मामला भरभराकर गिर सकता है.
दूसरा उदाहरण प्याज की कीमतों को लेकर दो महीने से अंदेशा जताया जा रहा था और हर साल सितंबर अक्टूबर में प्याज के दाम बढ़ते हैं जैसे ही किसानों को थोड़ा फायदा दिखने लगा तो टमाटर के 200 रुपये तक भाव से घबराई केंद्र सरकार ने प्याज पर चालीस प्रतिशत एक्सपोर्ट शुल्क बढ़ा दिया जिससे किसान भड़क गये . पूरे प्रदेश में आंदोलन होने लगा और सब मंडी बंद हो गयी . तब सरकार की नींद खुली और 2500 रुपये क्विंटल के भाव से प्याज खरीदने कहा गया है . लेकिन किसान अब भी जमकर नाराज है. इस बीच तीनों दलों में श्रेय लेने की होड़ लग गयी .जापान के दौरे पर गये उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फणनवीस ने बयान दिया कि उन्होने कई बार कामर्स मंत्री पीयूष गोयल से बाद कीऔर तब प्याज खरीदी का फैसला किया गया. तब तक यहां अजित पवार गुट के मंत्री धनंजय मुंडे दिल्ली पहुंच गये और कहा कि पीयूष गोयल से वो मिले इसलिए ये फैसला लिया गया . इन सबसे अलग सीएम यहां मुंबई में प्याज किसानों से मिले और कहा कि उन्होनें किसानो को मना लिया है. अब जनता किसकी बात पर विश्वास करे समझ नहीं आ रहा है .
एक और उदाहरण जब बीजेपी और शिवसेना शिंदे गुट की सरकार थी तो फैसला किया गया था कि कोआपरेटिव सोसायटी में हर जगह सरकार का एक व्यक्ति हो ताकि नकेल कसी जा सके . ये एनसीपी और कांग्रेस के नेताओं को कंट्रोल करने की कवायद थी लेकिन अजीत पवार जैसे ही वित्त मंत्री बने उन्होने केबिनेट का ये फैसला रदद कर दिया और उल्टा बीजेपी नेताओं के शक्कर कारखानों को कह दिया कि कर्ज लेते समय वित्त मंत्रालय की मंजूरी ली जाये अब इस पर तीनों दलों में घमासान हो गया है. केबिनेट की बैठक में भी तीनों दल खुलकर लड़ रहे हैं पिछली बैठक में अजित पवार ने तो सीधे सीएम शिंदे के इलाके में ही एक अस्पताल में दो दिन में 25 मौत का मामला उठा दिया सीएम कुछ जवाब नहीं दे पाये तो फिर उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेन्द्र फणनवीस ने बात को टालने के लिए अगला विषय आगे कर दिया ,अब अफसर परेशान है कि किसकी सुने और किसकी नहीं .
इस बीच एक सर्वे ने इन तीन दलों की नींद उड़ा दी है जिसमें कहा गया कि लोकसभा चुनाव होने पर तीन दलों की महायुती यानि कांग्रेस ,उदधव शिवसेना और शरद पवार की एनसीपी को 48 में से 30 तक सीट मिल सकती है जबकि पिछली बार बीजेपी शिवसेना गठबंधन को 48 में से 42 सीट मिल गयी है यानि बीजेपी को बढ़ा झटका लग सकता है . जाहिर है इसने तीनों की नींद उड़ा दी है.

It was a Sunday shocker indeed. The epicentre of “Pawar ”-ful political quake was Maharashtra, but it rattled across the political landscape of the country. In a surprise and dramatic political move, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) split and much of its top brass leaders, including Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Chhagan Bhujbal, joined Eknath Shinde-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena government. Ajit Pawar was sworn-in as Deputy Chief Minister while eight other NCP leaders took oath as ministers. This political upheaval is not only seen as a blow to the alliance of Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra but also the efforts to stitch a coalition for Opposition before the final of 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Big blow to Opposition unity

The alliance of Shiv Sena (Uddhav), Congress and NCP in Maharashtra was seen as a model for the stronger Opposition unity against the BJP vis-a-vis next year’s parliamentary elections. As far as the poll prospects (general and assembly elections) are concerned, the Eknath Shinde-led BJP-Sena alliance looks shaky. As per media report, BJP’s internal survey suggests that the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi is going ahead in terms of electoral gains. BJP appears to have jolted the Opposition unity efforts in Maharashtra and outside as well with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP group joining BJP.

Pawar vs Pawar

NCP patriarch Sharad Pawar, suffering the biggest setbacks of his five-decade political heft, is billed to be one of the important linchpins of the Opposition’s attempts to stand united against the BJP. But with the current “Maha” political play that gives hint of 40 of NCP’s total 53 MLAs backing Ajit Pawar, Sr. Pawar may get deprived of much electoral clout– a big blow to the Opposition plans. The Opposition looked stunned by the NCP split and took umbrage at the BJP. Opposition leaders are of the view that the split in NCP has dealt blow with the attempts of unifying Opposition in terms of public perception and optics.

Electoral gains for BJP

With the new political manoeuvre in Maharashtra politics, BJP seems to be confident of a major electoral gain in the face of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to reports published in the media, the talk between BJP and Ajit Pawar was going on for the past four months. State and central leadership of the saffron party were in touch with the nephew of Sharad Pawar. Ajit Pawar is reported to have had a meeting with senior BJP leader Amit Shah. Maharashtra is the second largest state in India in terms of 48 Lok Sabha seats, only behind Uttar Pradesh having 80 seats. Electorally, Maharashtra is quite crucial for the parliamentary elections. With Ajit Pawar’s switching side to BJP, the expanded BJP could claim all 48 seats in the state. Political experts feel that this twist could add much needed spin to the momentum of BJP to grow in Maharashtra, which the saffron party could not do so long as its association with the Thackerays.

नये साल के जश्न की तैयारी कर रहा पर्यटन राज्य गोवा में राजनीति का माहौल गर्म हो रहा है . इन दिनों राजनीतिक एजेंडा सेट हो रहा है ऐसे में नये नये आये राजनीतिक दल तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने गोवा की नई सुबह और 35 हजार करोड का नया नारा उछाल दिया है . इस मसले पर बीजेपी उलझ गयी है और उसे जवाब नहीं देते बन रहा है .
गोवा में पहली बार है जब चार पुराने दलो के अलावा पांचवे और छठे दल की भी एंटी हो गयी है . गोवा में अब तक बीजेपी . कांग्रेस .एनसीपी और शिवसेना ही बड़े दल थे चुनाव मैदान में लेकिन इस बार आम आदमी पार्टी और तृणमूल कांग्रेस भी मैदान में उतर गयी है. सबसे ज्यादा खर्च तृणमूल कांग्रेस कर रही है और रणनीतीकार प्रशांत किशोर के कहने पर सब हो रहा है . गोवा एयरपोर्ट से उतरकर आप अगर पणजी तक का सफर करेंगे तो हर जगह आपको ममता बनर्जी के पोस्टर नजर आयेंगे. गोयेंची नवी सकाल . गोवा की नई सुबह ..
टीएमसी ने गोवा के पुराने क्रिश्चियन एनजीओ गोवा फाउंडेशन के साथ समझौता कर लिया है और इस संगठन ने पुराने कागज झाड़ पोंछकर एक नया जुमला 35 हजार करोड़ की वसूली और हर गोवा के खाते में तीन लाख रुपये जमा करने का नारा दिया है. पार्टी नेता डेरेक ओ ब्रायन ने कहा है कि गोवा में माइनिंग माफिया ने 35 हजार करोड़ का घोटाला किया था और उसे वापस लेकर हर गोवा वासी को तीन लाख रुपये दिये जायेगे . ये सब उनको गोवा फाउंडेशन के क्लाउड अलवारिस ने समझाया है . जो गोवा के हर विकास काम में रोड़ा लगाते रहे हैं.
क्या है ये 35 हजार करोड़ का खेल .
असल में गोवा फाउंडेशन की अपील पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जज एम बी शाह ने एक रिपोर्ट बनायी थी जिसमें कहा गया था कि अनुमान है कि गोवा में गलत खनन से करीब 35हजारकरोड़ का राजस्व नुकसान हुआ .. ये रिपोर्ट 2012 के चुनाव में बीजेपी ने उठा ली और अरुण जेटली के साथ मनोहर पर्रीकर ने इस पर खूब प्रचार किया . बाद में जब पर्रीकर की ही सरकार आ गयी तो वो फंस गये . गोवा सरकार ने इस पर एक जांच बिठाई तो खुद पर्रीकर को अधिकारिक तौर पर कहना पड़ा कि ये आंकड़ा करीब तीन हजार करोड़ का ही है 35 हजार करोड़ तो अनुमान था .. लेकिन मजे की बात जब चार्टड अकाउंटेंटस की एक कमेटी बनाकर जांच की गयी तो असल आंकड़ा 300 करोड़ से भी कम के रेवेन्यू लास का निकला. आखिर में वो भी पांच साल मे वसूल नही हो पाये . यानि 15 लाख करोड़ के काले धन और हर खाते में 15 लाख के जुमले की तरह इसका इस्तेमाल हो गया. अब तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने इसे लपक लिया है और लगातार बयानबाजी कर रहे है लेकिन मुश्किल ये है कि खुद बीजेपी सरकार भी इसका खंडन नहीं कर पा रही है. डर यही कि लोग अगर फिर से खाते में तीन लाख के झांसे मे आ गये तो क्या होगा.
गोवा की हालत खराब ..
गोवा में 14 लाख की आबादी में से 3 लाख लोग किसी न किसी तरह माइनिंग में लगे हैं जाहिर है माइनिंग बंद होने से बेरोजगारी भी बेतहाशा बढ़ी है और कोविड में पर्यटन ठप होने से ये कोड़ में खाज की तरह हो गयी है. अब चुनाव में फिर से मुददे और जुमले उछाले जा रहे है जबकि आम गोवा वासी जो बहुत साधारण रहते हैं कहीं वो इस जुमले की राजनीति में फंस ना जाये तो बीजेपी को बहुत मुश्किल होगी..

एक्टर सुशांत राजपूत की कथित आत्महत्या के मामले में एक नहीं कई राजनीतिक धारायें बह रही है . ये राजनीति किसी एक दल तक सीमित नहीं है बल्कि सबने उसका फायदा उठाया है. अब तो सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने भी सीबीआई जांच का आदेश दे दिया तो राजनीती और गहरा गयी है.

दलगत राजनीती..

सुशांत केस में पहला एंगल दलगत राजनीती का है. सत्ता से बेदखल हो चुकी बीजेपी महाराष्ट्र में किसी तरह से सरकार को घेरना चाहती है. इसलिए पार्टी और उसके प्रवक्ता लगातार मीडिया के जरिये उसे उठा रहे हैं. बीजेपी को लगता है कि इस बहाने एक तरफ वो ठाकरे परिवार को निशाना बना सकती है वहीं दूसरी तरफ तीन दलों की सरकार में दरार लाने की कोशिश भी बीजेपी की है क्योंकि मुख्यमंत्री के बेटे का नाम आ रहा है वहीं एनसीपी का गृहमंत्री है. बस उसमें बीजेपी चूक गयी कि शरद पवार किसी तरह नहीं डर रहे वो तो अपने पोते के साथ भी नहीं गये .

आदित्य बनाम पार्थ .

इस खेल में शरद  पवार के भतीजे पार्थ पवार भी कूद गये क्योंकि उनकी आदित्य पवार से पुरानी दुश्मनी है . पार्थ ने 2019 का चुनाव लडा था तो आदित्य ने पुरानी दोस्ती नहीं निभाई और पार्थ को शिवसेना उम्मीदवार ने हरा दिया . आदित्य और पार्थ दोनों दोस्त थे दोनों साथ पार्टी करते थे . चुनाव में आदित्य के करीबी लोगों ने पार्थ की पार्टी करते हुए फोटो जारी कर दी थी जिसके जवाब में पार्थ ने भी आदित्य की फोटो जारी कर दी जिससे दूरियां और बढ गयी .

बिहार बनाम महाराष्ट्र

महाराषट्र चुनाव में बिहारियो का मुददा उठता रहा है ये पहला मौका जब बिहार चुनाव में महाराष्ट्र सरकार का मुददा भी उठ रहा है . असल में वो इसलिए क्योंकि शिवसेना इस बार सरकार की मुखिया है. बीजेपी और जेडीयू को लगता है इसी बहाने राजपूत वोट बैंक एकजुट हो सकता है . शिवसेना  और एनसीपी ने तो खुलकर आरोप भी लगाया है.

बालीवुड की राजनीती .

इस मामले में बालीवुड के गुट भी आपस में राजनीती कर एक दूसरे पर कीचड उछाल रहे हैं .कंगना रानाउत सबसे आगे और है इसी बहाने कंगना ने कई बडे फिल्मकारो से अपना हिसाब चुकता कर लिया है .बहस नेपोटिज्म से लेकर आगे तक गयी . .

सबकी अपनी राजनीती और सबसे अपने चूल्हे हैं जाहिर है कौन नहीं चाहेगा कि उसकी रोटी पक जाये और उसको फायदा हो जाये. बात तो तब है जब सचमुच सीबीआई जांच से कुछ निकले .

दरअसल भाजपा के शीर्ष नेतृत्व प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और अमित शाह किसी भी तरह से राष्ट्रपति शासन लगाने के पक्ष में नहीं है . अमित शाह ने खुद इस विषय पर पूर्व मुखयमंत्री देवेंद्र फणनवीस और भाजपा अध्यक्ष चंद्रकांत पाटिल से बात की है .उनको ये साफ संदेश दिया गया है कि अगर सरकार अपने ही बोझ से गिरे तो कोई बात नहीं .इसी को समझ कर देवेन्द्र लगातार चालें चल रहे हैं .अभी इतना लगातार आक्रामक होकर हमले इसलिये कर रहे हैं ताकि आघाडी सरकार में ये संदेश जाता रहे कि सरकार ज्यादा दिन नहीं चलने वाली हैं .इसके कई फायदे एक साथ हो रहे हैं एक तरफ ब्यूरोक्रेसी जो कोरोना में सबसे अहम हो गयी है वो काम नहीं कर रही उसे लगता है कि बीजेपी सरकार आ गयी तो कीमत चुकानी होगी दूसरा आघाडी सरकार में आपस में अविशवास पनप रहा है और इसी में कुछ विधायक पाला बदल सकते हैं .

ये सच भी है कि किसी भी सरकार में सब कुछ सही नहीं होता खासतौर पर तब जब तीन दलों की सरकार हो . देवेन्द्र फणनवीस को मालूम है कि अगर उदधव सफल हो गये तो बीजेपी और उनके लिए रास्ते बंद हो जायेंगे . देवेन्द इसी वजह से कई बार हडबडी में भी कदम उठा रहे हैं जैसे बिना तैयारी के ही सरकार के खिलाफ आँदोलन का ऐलान कर दिया जो नहीं हो सका . फिर खुद को सबसे बड़ा साबित करने के लिए हेल्पलाईन खोल दी जबकि संगठन साथ नहीं है . अब फिर से तूफान खड़ा करने की कोशिश है .
यहां तक कि सातारा महाराज उदयन राजे को राज्यसभा और रंजीत सिंह मोहिते पाटिल को विधानपरिषद भेजकर संदेश भी दिया कि जो भाजपा में आयेगा उसको इनाम मिलेगा लेकिन आघाडी के विधायक अभी डर रहे हैं वो ये भी जानते है कि अगर कम नंबर में बाहर गये तो फिर उदयन राजे की तरह हार भी सकते हैं. मगर मुश्किल ये है कि आघाडी के तीनों दलो में दरार बढती जा रही है आपसी भी और अंदरुनी भी .

शिवसेना में कई लोग नाराज है कि उनको मंत्रिमंडल या महामंडल नहीं मिला जबकि अब भी विधानपरिषद से चुने गये लोग ही सरकार में अहम है .वहां भी उदधव और आदित्य गुट की लड़ाई है . संजय राउत उसमें छौंका लगाते हैं . एनसीपी में चाचा भतीजे की लड़ाई है . शऱद पवार के बताये कामों को अजीत पवार अडंगा लगा रहे है जिससे ट्रांसफर पोस्टिंग तक पर झगडा हो रहा है . कांग्रेस नेता विहीन है . थोरात और अशोक चव्हाण की पटती नहीं तो दिलली तक नेता को लेकर भ्रम है .राहुल गांधी ने तो जिम्मेदारी ही झटक ली थी बाद में पवार के कहने पर सोनिया गांधी ने दखल दिया तब राहुल ने उदधव से बात की और अगले दिन संयुक्त प्रेस कांफ्रेंस हुयी .

इन सबसे अलग सरकार का एक अर्थशास्त्र है . ये सबको समझ में आ रहा है कि बिना केन्द्र सरकार के सहयोग के सरकार नहीं चलने वाली इसलिए उदधव लगातार केन्द्र में मोदी से पंगा नहीं लेते बल्कि जब चाहे सुधार लेते हैं. बीजेपी में भी कई लोग है जो कहते है कि शिवसेना को हमेशा के लिए छोड देना ठीक नहीं है . यही वजह है कि राष्ट्रपति शासन लगाने की कोई जल्दबाजी अभी नहीं होगी बल्कि सरकार को लगातार अस्थिर करने की कोशिश होती रहेगी ताकि दीवाली तक अपने ही बोझ से सरकार गिर जाये तब बीजेपी के पास कई विकल्प होंगे .तब तक कई समीकरण बनेंगे और बिगडेंगे भी .

Addressing reporters via a Zoom video call, Mr Gandhi also expressed “serious reservations” about the government’s Rs 20 lakh crore package for the coronavirus-hit Indian economy, calling it a “package of loans” that did not provide immediate on-ground relief for farmers and migrants.

“Our people need money. Prime Minister should reconsider this package. Modiji should think about direct cash transfer, 200 working days under MNREGA, money for farmers, because they are the future of India,” he said.

Mr Gandhi highlighted the NYAY scheme proposed by the Congress last year – which offered annual income support of Rs 72,000 to the poorest sections of society – and urged the government to come up with a similar plan.

“The migrant labourer walking on the street needs money, not debt. The farmer who is suffering needs money, not debt,” Mr Gandhi said, adding, “If we do not, this will become a catastrophic problem”.

Earlier this week Mr Gandhi made that same request of PM Modi, asking for direct transfer of “at least Rs 7,500” to the bank accounts of migrants left jobless by the lockdown.

Nobel Prize-winning economist Abhijit Banerjee, in a discussion with Mr Gandhi on the economic fallout of the coronavirus crisis, made the same point.

Mr Banerjee said: “I would say bottom 60 per cent of the population, we give them some money, nothing bad will happen in my view”, adding that a similar practice was being followed by the United States.

The novel coronavirus outbreak – India has reported nearly 86,000 cases and over 2,700 deaths so far – has affected lakhs of people across the country, with migrant labourers and daily wagers among the hardest hit.

Distressing visuals have emerged over the past weeks of men, women and children left with no choice but to walk hundreds of kilometres home in punishing weather, often without money, food, water or shelter.

Mr Gandhi has been particularly vocal about the migrant crisis, repeatedly urging the government to ensure they are fed and allowed to get home safely.

The government this week announced a fiscal relief and stimulus package that had some measures for stranded and struggling migrants, including food rations and affordable housing.

However, the Congress said this was a “jumla” (false promise) package that had no direct benefit for farmers or migrant labourers. Similar concerns were raised by other opposition leaders, including NCP chief Sharad Pawar and CPIM leader Sitaram Yechury.

In his video call today, Mr Gandhi said that unless the government ensured a significant level of demand from consumers across all economic sections, the country would struggle to recover from the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.

And Prime Minister of India asks people to light lamps & candles. Is this some kind of a joke? Not a word on where the country stands in this war. It’s preparedness, additional financial aid, new facilities created, diagnostic centres added, what his government proposes to do with gargantuan problem of stranded migrants. Shame!

His so called address to nation this morning was irresponsibility and incompetence personified. It was the most apt example of how a prime minister of the country should not be. He never does his homework. It was desired he will at least at this hour. But no. Is he not aware that 50% people in this country do not possess ration cards? Those among the middle class hopping from one rental house to another every 11 months never get any. Where will they procure food grain to feed their families?

All he is consistently giving people is sedatives such as clap, bang the utensils and light the lamps like celebration or an events. His blind, irrational followers will do it dutifully, oblivious that they too are being cheated. They will not think even for a minute how this will help to tide over the alarming situation. His cockamamie & gimmicks is a narcotic they are addicted to. On his part, PM is more than happy to peddle this drug as it hides his bankruptcy of will and ability to take any concrete action.

On my part, I vow not to indulge into this stupidity. I will share the cost of same oil with some poor and needy. Let Modi know one cardinal truth that you can not fool all the people all the time.
