With an outlay of ₹9.17 crore, the 24-month initiative will organise 700 screening camps, screen 52,500 children, conduct 1,600 echocardiograms and support 500 cardiac surgeries/interventions. The programme will cover Singrauli, Sidhi and Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, and Sonbhadra and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, with screening conducted through schools, Anganwadi centres and health facilities.

The initiative builds on the success of its first phase, which screened 38,315 children through 534 camps, conducted 909 echocardiograms and completed 300 cardiac surgeries/interventions. NCL also provided counselling, travel, accommodation, surgery and post-treatment care to beneficiaries, strengthening early detection and access to specialised cardiac treatment for children in underserved communities.

On this occasion, Former Chief, Indian Space Research Organisation, Chairman, Department of Space & Advisor, Ministry of Space, Government of India, Shri V Narayanan were present as Chief Guest of the event.

During a program organized in Delhi, NCL’s General Manager of Dudhichua Area, Shri Vinod Kumar Singh was honored for his unwavering dedication to work, successful and efficient leadership and strong teamwork in mine operations and coal production in the financial year 2024-25. Heavy monsoon and adverse conditions badly affected the mine operations in the month of August, but due to the efforts of Mr. Singh, the production of the project reached a stable figure of 90 thousand tonnes per day in a short time, due to which the Dudhichua Project and NCL have got unexpected success in production as per the target of FY 2024-25.

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) have partnered with the Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust to launch the “Nanha Sa Dil” initiative. This project focuses on providing life-saving surgeries for children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Launched on March 7, 2024, the initiative has already saved over 250 lives and is expanding its reach through CCL, NCL, and SECL to benefit more children across multiple states.

The initiative aims to screen a total of 62,250 children. CCL will screen 45,000 children in Jharkhand, while NCL will conduct 345 camps to reach 17,250 children in their operational areas. Through the partnership with SSSHET, the project will leverage their expertise in pediatric cardiac surgeries. NCL will conduct screenings, with children in need of treatment referred to a dedicated diagnostic center at NCL Bina Hospital for analysis and further care.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of senior officials, highlighting Coal India Limited’s (CIL) commitment to impactful CSR initiatives. With the support of the Ministry of Coal (MoC), CIL and its subsidiaries are dedicated to improving India’s healthcare landscape. The “Nanha Sa Dil” initiative reflects a commitment to transform lives, with a goal to save over 2,000 lives in the next three years, demonstrating a significant milestone for a Public Sector Unit in India.

He highlighted CIL’s pivotal role in contributing to community welfare and employment generation. He urged the HR fraternity to enhance employees’ experience with a human touch and foster a more inclusive work environment, especially for women.He also dedicated the recently received prestigious Great Place to Work recognition to every CIL employee, emphasizing collective efforts toward excellence.

Under ‘CHARAK’, NCL will provide free treatment of identified life-threatening diseases at its dedicated hospital (NSC) or at specialised empanelled hospitals across the country. Residents of Singrauli and Sonbhadra districts having annual family income below Rs. 8 Lakhs from all sources will be eligible for benefit under this scheme.

NCL touched the lives of around 10 Lakhs people and spent more than 1,000 Crores on various CSR initiatives in the previous 10 years.

जांच एजेंसी ने कहा कि आरोपियों में से एक मध्य प्रदेश में एक फार्म चलाता था और कथित तौर पर विभिन्न ठेकेदारों, व्यापारियों और एनएलसी के कई अधिकारियों के बीच बिचौलिए के रूप में काम करता था और उन्हें रिश्वत पहुंचाता था। एजेंसी ने बताया कि आरोपियों के खिलाफ कई मामले दर्ज हैं और सीबीआई की एक टीम ने सिंगरौली, जबलपुर और नोएडा में कई जगहों पर छापेमारी की है। छापेमारी के दौरान भारी मात्रा में नकदी, डिजिटल डिवाइस और कई आपत्तिजनक दस्तावेज बरामद किए गए हैं।
