The eighth and ninth days of Navratri hold special significance as Kanya Puja or Kanjak puja is performed by the devotees. Some perform it on Ashtami Tithi and others on Navami Tithi of the festival. Nine girls acknowledged as the nine avatars of Maa Durga are welcomed in homes and offered saatvik bhog which includes puri, chole, halwa, fruits, coconut etc. The nine divine forms of Goddess Durga are considered to be embodied in these girls who are yet to reach puberty. They are worshipped with a whole heart and given gifts at the end of the puja.

The Ashtami Tithi of Navratri begins on October 02 at 06:47 PM and ends at 04:37 PM on October 03, 2022. The Shubh Muharat for Ashtami Kanya Puja is from 12:04 PM to 12:51 PM. Another Muharat is from 02:27 PM to 03:14 Pm in the afternoon on October 03.

Navami Tithi will begin from 04:37 PM on October 03 and ends at 02:20 PM on October 04, 2022.

1. Navratri Kanya Puja is to be performed on the eighth or ninth day of the festival as it is considered auspicious.

नवरात्री के छठे दिन कात्यायनी माता की पूजा की जाती है। पुराणों के अनुसार माता पार्वती ने महिषासुर नामक राक्षस को मारने के बाद यह रूप लिए धारण किया था। इन्हें युदध की देवी भी कहा जाता है। माँ कात्यायनी का वाहन शेर है इनकी चार भुजाएँ और दो हाथों में कमल और तलवार सुशोभित है माँ के दाहिने हाथ वर और अभय मुद्रा में है पौराणिक मान्यताओं की माने तो माँ कात्यायनी ने कात्यायन ऋषि को जन्म दिया था जिस कारण इनका नाम कात्यायनी पड़ा।

Festival became more cheerful when celebrated with loved ones. The visitors came to enjoy the glorious night with their families, friends and relatives. Residents are preparing their traditional clothes and dandiya sticks as the festive feels seek a dance floor.

Mr. Vasu, one of the main organizers of the evening at NTH86 said, “Celebrations had begun for us the moment we sat to plan the event itself. It is amazing to see the response and support of residents and we are eagerly waiting for the day. Purpose behind this evening is to realize that we can celebrate our life any moment we wish to and it is this easy.”

The coming weeks at DLF Gardencity will be vibrant with pandals, mata ki chowki, music, dance, food stalls and community gatherings of over 2500 families residing over there. There will be food vans serving especially curated festive cuisine on the occasion of Dussehra. Also, there will be various competitions for children and adults with exciting gifts as prizes.  The Puja celebrations would culminate on Dussehra – 8^th October where the bisarjan of Maa Durga will take place. The next few days would be merry with multiple Diwali Melas. There will be flea markets selling clothes, utensils and things that give a complete touch to the vibes of festivities in the air.
