Shri R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC along with Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel) and Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects) called on Shri Manohar Lal, Union Minister, Ministry of Power & Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), GoI and Shri Mohammad Afzal, Joint Secretary (Hydro), MOP, GoI at New Delhi on NHPC being granted Navratna status by GoI. CMD, NHPC expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Power for its unwavering support and guidance to NHPC which has resulted in NHPC being granted the Navratna status. Shri Chaudhary further assured Hon’ble Minister that NHPC will continue to work with full zeal and dedication towards contributing to the power sector for the overall development of the nation.

Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has granted “Navratna Status” to NHPC, SJVN, RailTel and Solar Energy Corporation of India.

With the grant of ‘Navratna’ status, the company should benefit in enhancing the market credibility and in undertaking larger-size PPP projects. NHPC is a CPSE with annual turnover of Rs. 8405 crores and net profit of Rs. 3744 crores for FY 2023-24. SJVN is a CPSE with an annual turnover of Rs. 2833 crores and net profit of Rs 908 crores for FY 2023-24. RCIL is a CPSE with an annual turnover of Rs. 2622 crores and net profit of Rs. 246 crores for FY 2023-24.
