NEW DELHI. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat train service achieved a major milestone by recording its highest-ever daily ridership of approximately 1,25,500 commuters. This surge reflects a broader trend, with the corridor now averaging around 1 lakh passengers every day. The rapid growth highlights a significant shift in regional travel patterns, as commuters increasingly choose Namo Bharat over other options for its speed, punctuality, and overall reliability.

To effectively manage this growing passenger demand, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation recently introduced 18 additional train trips during peak hours. This enhancement particularly benefits officegoers, students, and regular commuters who rely on time-bound public transport. By substantially reducing travel times across the National Capital Region, the service has firmly established itself as a preferred choice for daily transit.

The five stations for which the exclusive semi-naming/co-branding rights are available are Duhai, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South RRTS stations.

Branding extends to station interiors (concourse and platform levels) and exteriors, including columns and piers giving stations a distinct brand identity.

Brands can prefix or suffix their names to station names. It will also be part of train announcements.

In a lucrative opportunity to partner with India’s first RRTS System and Namo Bharat Train, NCRTC invites bids for exclusive semi-naming and co-branding rights for five strategically located stations on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.

This initiative aims to enhance passenger experience and convenience while generating Non-Fare Box Revenue to support the operational costs of the RRTS Corridor. By participating, brands can significantly increase their visibility by associating their names with RRTS stations, enabling impactful advertising campaigns that reach a broad audience.

Brands awarded these rights will have the opportunity to prefix or suffix their names to station names, incorporate their brand colors on station walls, hoardings, and entry/exit points, and utilize both bare and built-up retail spaces. The branding will extend to station interiors at the concourse and platform levels, as well as exteriors, including columns and piers on both sides of the station, providing visibility to road traffic and pedestrians alike.

In addition to these extensive branding opportunities, NCRTC will also feature in-train audio announcements with the co-branded station names, further enhancing brand interaction with daily commuters. Brand logos will be prominently displayed on station maps, and mobile canopies can be set up in unpaid areas for experiential marketing.

More than 22 Lakhs passengers have already traveled on the Namo Bharat trains. The RRTS stations are strategically situated along the Delhi-Meerut highway and are centrally located in densely populated areas, surrounded by markets, educational institutions and residential neighborhoods. This prime location offers excellent brand visibility for marketing purposes. The semi-naming rights for Guldhar RRTS station have already been acquired under this initiative.

Tender documents for acquiring semi naming rights are available on the Central Procurement Portal (CPP) and NCRTC’s official website, www.ncrtc.in. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 20, 2024, at 3:00 PM via video conferencing (VC). Interested parties can join the VC by sending a request to the email address provided in the tender documents.

The RRTS is India’s first rail-based, high-speed, high-frequency regional transit system, connecting metropolitan areas, major cities, towns, and urban nodes across the National Capital Region. It offers a significant benefit by providing fast and seamless regional transit for all sections of society.

The Namo Bharat trains, with design speed of 180 kmph and operational speed of up to 160 kmph, dramatically reduce travel time within the region by one-third. Once the 82 km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is completed by the targeted deadline of 2025, passengers will be able to travel between Delhi and Meerut in under an hour. Currently, a 34-km section between Sahibabad and Modi Nagar North, featuring eight elevated stations on this pioneering corridor, is operational for public.
