NALCO Hands Over ₹988.88 Crore Dividend to Government of India

NALCO presented a dividend cheque of ₹988.88 crore for FY 2024-25 to the Government of India, handed over to Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy in the presence of Mines Secretary Piyush Goyal, IAS. The cheque was submitted by NALCO CMD B. P. Singh in New Delhi, with Director (Production) P. K. Sharma and Director (Finance) A. K. Behuria also in attendance. Since 1992, NALCO has paid a total dividend of ₹14,331 crore, including ₹9,556 crore to the Government of India, underscoring the company’s sustained profitability and long-standing commitment to value creation.

Skill training programme for youth from the NALCO’s operational units

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has taken a significant step towards empowering rural youth through skill development by signing an MoU with the Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. The agreement, signed on 7th October 2025 at NALCO Corporate Office between NALCO Foundation—the CSR arm of NALCO—and CTTC, aims to implement a skill training programme for youth from the peripheral villages of NALCO’s operational units at Damanjodi and Angul. Under this initiative, 20 youths each from the villages surrounding NALCO’s Mines & Refinery Complex, Damanjodi, and Smelter & Power Complex, Angul, making a total of 40 participants, will be sponsored for a five-month residential training programme at CTTC, Bhubaneswar.

Coal India has introduced a Rs 1 crore personal accident insurance for its regular employees and Rs 40 lakh for contract workers, along with an increase in ex gratia amount for mine accident fatalities from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, demonstrating its commitment to safety and family support. HCL partnered with SBI to offer Rs 1 crore coverage for its employees and Rs 20 lakh for contractual workers, along with introducing a uniform to boost unity. NALCO extended Rs 1 crore accident coverage to all employees and Rs 20 lakh for contractual workers, emphasizing inclusive growth and social security. These moves highlight the companies’ focus on employee welfare, safety, and corporate responsibility in the mining and metals sector.

Behuria has been selected for the post of Director (Finance) of NALCO from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB Selection Board Panel in its selection meeting held on March 17. Out of 12 candidates, two candidates were from SAIL, and one each from KIOCL Limited, NMDC Limited, NALCO, NBCC (India) Limited, MSTC Limited, Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL), MRPL, GAIL (India) Limited, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Limited and Indian Revenue Service. He is serving as Executive Director (Finance and Accounts) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
