SHIMLA. THDCIL Signs Three-Year Consultancy Agreement with MoRTH Shimla for Highway Protection in Himachal PradeshTHDC India Limited (THDCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Regional Office, Shimla, to provide specialized consultancy services for slope protection and landslide mitigation for three years. Executed at the MoRTH Regional Office in Shimla by Dr. Niraj Kumar Agrawal, General Manager (Design Outward Consultancy), THDCIL, and Shri Vishnu Murti, Chief Engineer-cum-Regional Officer, MoRTH Shimla, the agreement aims to bolster road safety in the state. Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg, Managing Director of THDCIL, highlighted that THDCIL has established itself as a trusted technical partner for MoRTH, NHAI, and NHIDCL, and noted that this partnership will further strengthen the development of safer and more resilient National Highway infrastructure across the Himalayan region.

Under this agreement, THDCIL will act as the consultant to evaluate landslide-susceptible zones and design site-specific stabilization measures for chronic locations along National Highways in Himachal Pradesh. The assignment involves preparing comprehensive engineering designs, technical reports, and conducting site monitoring during project execution while deploying a combination of modern flexible treatments and conventional stabilization methods. THDCIL already provides similar high-level consultancy services across multiple states—including Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, and Jammu and Kashmir—as well as for key holy pilgrimage routes such as the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Boards.
