PESB Recommends Vishwanath Suresh as Next CMD of MOIL Limited

New Delhi. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Vishwanath Suresh for the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of MOIL Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Steel. The recommendation was made during the PESB meeting held on Saturday.

Shri Vishwanath Suresh is presently serving as Director (Commercial) at NMDC Limited. An alumnus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, he is a Metallurgical Engineer and also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing) along with a certificate in Advanced Strategic Management from IIM Kozhikode.

Before joining NMDC, Shri Suresh held key leadership roles at SAIL, including Executive Director (Coal Import) and additional charge of Executive Director (Corporate Materials Management). With over three decades of experience in the mining and manufacturing sectors, he has developed expertise in sales and marketing of steel in both domestic and international markets, procurement, strategic management, and policy formulation.

Known for his visionary commercial acumen, Shri Suresh has spearheaded multiple initiatives to enhance systems efficiency, drive sales growth, and strengthen revenue performance across organizations he has served.

MOIL registers 17% growth in August achieving highest-ever production of 1.45 lakh tonnes

Nagpur: MOIL Limited has reported its best-ever August production, achieving 1.45 lakh tonnes in August 2025, a growth of 17 percent over the same month last year.

The company also posted strong sales performance, recording 1.13 lakh tonnes of sales during the month, up 25.6 percent year-on-year.For the five-month period of April to August 2025, MOIL registered its highest-ever cumulative production at 7.92 lakh tonnes, representing a 9.3 percent increase over the corresponding period of the previous year. The company also carried out 50,621 meters of exploratory drilling during the period, an 8.6 percent year-on-year rise, underscoring its focus on expanding future mining capacity.

Shri Ajit Kumar Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director of MOIL, commended the workforce for achieving these milestones despite challenging weather conditions. He highlighted the company’s sustained momentum in production and sales as a testament to the team’s commitment and operational efficiency.

MOIL Registers Record July Output in FY’26 Amid Challenging Weather

MOIL Limited achieved its highest-ever July production in FY’26, producing 1.45 lakh tonnes of manganese ore—registering a 12% growth over the corresponding period last year despite adverse weather conditions. Demonstrating strong operational resilience during April–July 2025, the company recorded a total production of 6.47 lakh tonnes (up 7.8% year-on-year), sales of 5.01 lakh tonnes (a 10.7% increase), and exploratory drilling of 43,215 meters (11.4% higher than last year). CMD Shri Ajit Kumar Saxena congratulated the MOIL team for their exceptional performance and consistent efforts to drive productivity under challenging circumstances.
