Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) reported strong business performance for the nine months ended December 31, 2025, with healthy growth across key parameters. Loan sanctions rose 29% to ₹40,100 crore, while disbursements increased 44% to ₹24,903 crore. The outstanding loan book grew 28% to ₹87,975 crore. The MoU was signed by Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE and Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of senior officials from MNRE and IREDA.

Under the MoU, the Government of India has set a Revenue from Operations target of ₹8,200 crores for FY 2025-26. IREDA had exceeded its Revenue from Operations target in FY 2024-25, achieving ₹6,743.32 crores against the target of ₹5,957 crores. The MoU also includes key performance parameters such as Return on Net Worth, Return on Capital Employed, NPA to Total Loans, Asset Turnover Ratio, and EBTDA, among other targets.

Expressing confidence in the company’s growth trajectory, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA, said: “With the hope for continuing excellent performance for this year also, we are committed to sustaining our track record of excellence. IREDA has earned an ‘Excellent’ rating in MoU performance for four consecutive years since FY 2020-21. For FY 2023-24 MoU rating, IREDA emerged as the top performer in the NBFC and Power sector and among the top four CPSEs across sectors, as per a list of 84 CPSEs issued by the Department of Public Enterprises.

SECI was granted Navratna status by the Ministry of Finance recently.

As a leading Central Public Sector Enterprise, SECI plays a pivotal role in the development and expansion of renewable energy (RE) capacity in India, with a cumulative awarded generation capacity exceeding 73 GW as of December 31, 2024. SECI is the premier Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) in the country, continuously working to meet climate goals and drive sustainable development.

In the financial year 2023-24, the company witnessed a substantial increase of 22.13% in its annual trading volume, with a total of 42.935 billion units traded. SECI recorded a total income of Rs. 13,135.80 Cr., signifying a robust growth of 20.91% over the preceding year. Furthermore, the company achieved a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 436.03 Cr., reflecting a commendable growth of 38.13%.

Under the scheme component ‘Innovative Projects’, Rs.500 crore has been earmarked to encourage advancements in rooftop solar technologies, business models, and integration techniques. The component seeks to identify and support startups, institutions, and industries in piloting new concepts, with a focus on emerging solutions like blockchain-based peer-to-peer solar trading, smart materials, and rooftop solar integrated with electric vehicles and battery storage.

To drive this forward, MNRE will invite proposals and encourage joint research and international collaborations. National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) will serve as the Scheme Implementation Agency (SIA) for the Innovative Projects Component. Selected projects will receive financial assistance of up to 60% of the project cost or ?30 crore, whichever is lower. Additionally, annual awards for innovation will be granted to encourage further advancements, with prizes up to ?1 crore.

The Government of India approved the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana on 29th February 2024, with the aim to increase the share of solar rooftop capacity and empower residential households to generate their own electricity. The scheme has an outlay of Rs 75,021 crore and is to be implemented till FY 2026-27. The Scheme Guidelines may be accessed here
