Dr. Mohanty has been serving as Director (Finance) since October 2023 and as Chief Financial Officer of IREDA shortly thereafter. With over 27 years of experience in the renewable energy and power sectors, he has held key positions at IREDA, REC Limited, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), CESCO, and GRIDCO. A highly qualified finance professional, he holds multiple postgraduate degrees, a law degree, and a Ph.D. in Commerce, and is widely recognised for his expertise in project financing, renewable energy, and power sector development.

A veteran with over 35 years of sector expertise, Shri Bhargava’s monumental contribution lies in architecting India’s clean energy landscape. As the founding CEO of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Executive Director (RE) at NTPC, he spearheaded an unprecedented transition—astronomically scaling NTPC’s renewable energy pipeline from a modest 1 GW to over 25 GW within just 55 months.

Further cementing his leadership, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) recently nominated him as a Green Hydrogen Expert to the National Green Hydrogen Mission’s Empowered Group. His deep operational experience with utility-scale frameworks makes him uniquely suited to drive global climate policy integration from the ground up.

The award was presented by Shri Anil Razdan, Former Secretary (Power) along with other dignitaries and received on behalf of IREDA by Mrs. Mala Ghosh Choudhury, General Manager (HR); Ms. Durre Shahwar, General Manager (HR); and Mrs. Punnu Grover, Chief Compliance Officer, along with other women officers.

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) reported strong business performance for the nine months ended December 31, 2025, with healthy growth across key parameters. Loan sanctions rose 29% to ₹40,100 crore, while disbursements increased 44% to ₹24,903 crore. The outstanding loan book grew 28% to ₹87,975 crore. CMD Shri Pradip Kumar Das said the performance reflects growing confidence in IREDA’s financing capabilities and its pivotal role in driving India’s green energy transition.

Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, simplicity, and relevance to NGHM’s goals. The winner will receive a ₹1,00,000 cash prize, a certificate of recognition, and reimbursement for domestic airfare to New Delhi, while ten runners-up will get ₹5,000 each. The MoU was signed by Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE and Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of senior officials from MNRE and IREDA.

Under the MoU, the Government of India has set a Revenue from Operations target of ₹8,200 crores for FY 2025-26. IREDA had exceeded its Revenue from Operations target in FY 2024-25, achieving ₹6,743.32 crores against the target of ₹5,957 crores. The MoU also includes key performance parameters such as Return on Net Worth, Return on Capital Employed, NPA to Total Loans, Asset Turnover Ratio, and EBTDA, among other targets.

Expressing confidence in the company’s growth trajectory, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA, said: “With the hope for continuing excellent performance for this year also, we are committed to sustaining our track record of excellence. IREDA has earned an ‘Excellent’ rating in MoU performance for four consecutive years since FY 2020-21. For FY 2023-24 MoU rating, IREDA emerged as the top performer in the NBFC and Power sector and among the top four CPSEs across sectors, as per a list of 84 CPSEs issued by the Department of Public Enterprises.

Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA, extended a warm welcome to Smt. Khare. During the meeting, Shri Das highlighted IREDA’s notable achievements over the last five years and emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the Government of India’s ambitious renewable energy targets. He outlined IREDA’s plans to contribute to the target of generating 500 GW of non-fossil-based electricity by 2030, aligning with the Govt of India’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat.

In the financial year 2023-24, the company witnessed a substantial increase of 22.13% in its annual trading volume, with a total of 42.935 billion units traded. SECI recorded a total income of Rs. 13,135.80 Cr., signifying a robust growth of 20.91% over the preceding year. Furthermore, the company achieved a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 436.03 Cr., reflecting a commendable growth of 38.13%.
