Thirteen Railway lines are under construction for faster Coal Transportation

The Thirteen Railway lines are under construction of Coal is coordinating with the Railways to enhance coal evacuation & distribution capabilities. At present, 13 Railway lines are being constructed in collaboration with the Ministry of Railways for the expansion of coal distribution capabilities, which are at various stages of construction.
In line with the goal of PM Gati Shakti, the Ministry of Coal has undertaken railway projects costing Rs. 26000 Cr to develop multimodal connectivity.

This information was given by Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi in a written reply in Lok Sabha today .

HAL and The Republic of Argentina signs LoI for productive cooperation

148 Airports operationalised to date

More than 1.23 crore passengers have travelled on Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN Flights since the inception of the scheme. 148 Airports, including nine heliports and two water aerodromes, have been operationalized till date.

घंटी बजाकर अटेंडेंट को नहीं बुला सकते

रेल मंत्रालय की तरफ से फैसला क‍िया गया क‍ि अधिकारियों के कमरों की मेज पर घंटी नहीं रहेगी। रेलवे म‍िन‍िस्‍टर के इस फैसले को व‍िभाग में लागू भी कर द‍िया गया है। इस फैसले के अनुसार अधिकारियों को यद‍ि अटेंडेंट को बुलाना है तो इसके ल‍िए उन्‍हें उठकर कमरे से बाहर जाना होगा। इसके अलावा अध‍िकारी के ब‍जी होने पर उन्हें फोन से अटेंडेंट को बुलाना होगा। रेलवे मंत्रालय का यह फैसला अभी मंत्री सेल में लागू हुआ है।

Govt considering Comprehensive Scheme to promote Coal Gasification Projects with an outlay of Rs. 6000 Crore

The Ministry of Coal has set a target to achieve coal gasification of 100 Million Tonne (MT) coal by FY 2030 reflecting the government’s commitment to harnessing the power of coal gasification. The Ministry is taking innovative measures to accelerate the development of coal gasification projects. In line with this objective, the Ministry is considering a comprehensive scheme to promote Coal/Lignite gasification projects for both Government Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and the Private Sector with an outlay of Rs 6,000 crores.

The selection of entities for coal/lignite gasification scheme will be carried out through a competitive and transparent bidding process. Furthermore, government is considering providing budgetary support to eligible Government PSUs, and Private sector enabling them to undertake coal gasification projects. In first segment, the government will provide support to Government PSUs. The second segment encompasses both the Private Sector and Government PSUs, with a budget allocation granted to each project. The selection of at least one project under this segment will be determined through a tariff-based bidding process, with criteria formulated in consultation with NITI Aayog. Lastly, the third segment involves the provision of budgetary support for demonstration projects utilizing indigenous technology and/or small-scale product-based gasification plants.

The Ministry is also considering an incentive to reimburse the Goods and Services Tax (GST) compensation cess on coal utilized in gasification projects for a period of 10 years after the commercial operational date (COD), provided that the GST compensation cess is extended beyond FY27. This incentive aims to offset the inability of entities to claim input tax credit for the same.

Ms Leena Nandan, Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change inaugurated the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA)’ flagship initiative – the IICA Certified ESG Professional: Impact Leader Programme’s second batch during an Inaugural Event held today.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Nandan lauded IICA for such timely initiatives in the domain of ESG, she reaffirmed the continued support of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to the IICA. While addressing the concerning impacts of Climate Change she emphasized the significance of resource efficiency which is being promoted by MoEFCC by adoption of the mandate of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Further, she enlightened the gathering about the Green Credit Programmer of the MoEFCC, and highlighted the need for promoting adoption of green initiatives by the Corporates and including green credits in the ESG Reporting.

. She also highlighted about Mission Life of the Government of India and reminded the gathering about the onus on the present generation to leave a safe and secure future for coming generations. She said that IICA trained budding ESG professionals have potential to aid in taking several agendas of Government further to next levels.

Shri Praveen Kumar, DG&CEO, IICA said that the ESG Programmer further adds to the legacy of IICA to take timely initiatives to cater the needs of transformation in industries through building capacities of the corporate functionaries. He highlighted that IICA has also formed a ‘National Association of Impact Leaders’ which is a membership-based association only for ESG professionals, certified by the IICA. The association will provide a platform for professional advancement and engagement to its members. In future this association may also act as a regulatory body to strengthen the ESG Profession in India.

Dr. Garima Dadhich, Head School of Business Environment, IICA said that Impact Leader Programme is first of its kind in India designed specifically for creating most needed ESG professionals. Ms Geetanjali Master from UNICEF emphasized the long association of UNICEF and IICA for promoting humane aspects of ESG. Mr. Shankar Venkateswaran, Adjunct Faculty, IICA, enlightened the gathering about the present trends in the domain of ESG. He also emphasized the social concerns that underlie environmental impacts. Dr. Ravi Raj Atrey highlighted that the responsibility and capability of leading businesses with minimal negative impacts on the earth and its people while also not compromising on financial targets, distinguishes an ESG impact leader. The event was attended by fifty budding ESG Professionals who are senior corporate officials enrolled in the programmer.
