NEW DELHI. Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary flagged off Five New Solar Community Hub Skill Vans to Advance Digital Inclusion and Future-Ready Skilling in India on Tuesday. These skill vans will serve communities across Uttar Pradesh, Delhi/NCR, Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra, bringing solar-powered technology, AI-enabled learning and employability pathways directly to youth, women and underserved populations. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said that the initiative represents the next phase of one of Dell’s most ambitious global efforts to bridge the digital divide. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chaudhary said that the Solar Community Hub Skill Vans reflect a shared commitment to making technology and opportunity accessible to every corner of India. He added that more than digital spaces, skill vans are centres of aspiration that combine clean energy, AI-enabled learning and industry-aligned skills to prepare young people for emerging opportunities.

The Ministry further said that the collaboration between Dell Technologies and NSDC is expected to see these hubs empower communities and strengthen India’s journey towards inclusive growth and a future-ready workforce.

India Launches Navachar Mantra to Power Grassroots Innovation

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has officially launched Navachar Mantra, a landmark national initiative designed to identify, nurture, and scale grassroots innovations and early-stage entrepreneurship across India. Unveiled by Union Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary at IIT Delhi, the programme places a unique focus on empowering untamed talent from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, aspirational districts, and rural communities. Implemented by NIESBUD with IIT Delhi’s Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) as the technical knowledge partner, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between rural ingenuity and national scale by building deep collaborations among government bodies, academia, and industry leaders.

During the launch, which featured an insightful fireside chat with top Indian founders, Minister Chaudhary emphasized that the next global transformation should carry India’s intellectual imprint, urging the youth to look beyond manufacturing and instead pioneer technologies that shape the global future. The program targets critical priority sectors including Agritech, HealthTech, EdTech, Climate and Sustainability, and MSME Enablement, effectively connecting local problem-solvers directly with policymakers, corporate leaders, and investors. Digital applications for the initiative have officially opened and will remain active until July 5, 2026, kicking off a multi-stage expert evaluation process to select high-potential ventures.

Selected innovators will enter a comprehensive, year-long engagement programme packed with dedicated mentorship roundtables, thematic webinars, investor networking sessions, and national storytelling platforms. Beyond strategic guidance on fundraising, intellectual property management, and regulatory compliance, the initiative will facilitate physical pilot projects and market linkages to turn raw ideas into profitable enterprises. Navachar Mantra will ultimately culminate in a massive national showcase event, utilizing ministerial podcasts and digital campaigns to grant grassroots creators high-visibility recognition, thereby strengthening the talent pipeline for a self-reliant, innovation-driven Viksit Bharat.

The event successfully connected job seekers with over 55 participating companies across sectors such as Automotive, Logistics, Healthcare, Banking, Manufacturing, Retail, and Services. As a result, more than 2,400 candidates received appointment letters, highlighting the event’s role as a single-window platform for employment, apprenticeships, and career guidance. Senior officials and political leaders, including Minister of State Shri Jayant Chaudhary, were present to emphasize the government’s focus on linking grassroots skill development with employment opportunities, thereby fostering inclusive growth and local entrepreneurship.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Jayant Chaudhary paid tribute to Chaudhary Ajit Singh ji on his birth anniversary, emphasizing the importance of rural India’s entrepreneurial spirit and youth potential. He highlighted initiatives like SOAR—Skilling for AI Readiness—and encouraged youth to participate in regional and national skill competitions such as IndiaSkills, which offer pathways to international recognition. Over 2,400 Youth Secure Job at Bharatpur Kaushal Mahotsav

Bengaluru, November 20, 2024– The National Skill Development Corporation under the age is of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship today announced the successful conclusion of Bharatpur Kaushal Mahotsav, where more than 2,400 youth received job offers from leading employers across multiple sectors.

Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Ministry of Education, presided over the event, where he personally handed over job offer letters to successful candidates.

The mega recruitment drive witnessed an overwhelming response from the corporate sector, with more than 70 industry leaders participating actively in the initiative. Major employers including e-commerce giants Flipkart and Zepto, global food chain Burger King, and premium dining brand Barbeque Nation, along with other prominent companies, collectively brought over 20,000 job opportunities to Bharatpur.

The diverse range of positions offered competitive salary packages ranging from ₹19,000 to ₹35,000 per month, marking a significant boost to local employment prospects.

Shri Chaudhary stressed the significance of community involvement in effectively implementing Bharatpur’s skill development plan. He highlighted NSDC and MSDE’s collaborative efforts to attract pro-industry policies through state investment summits, opening opportunities for youth in remote areas.

Addressing the gathering, he emphasized upskilling through platforms like SIDH and JobX, which bridge skill gaps by offering insights into industry demands, certifications, and courses.

“The companies here today are offering jobs in nearby areas, providing a significant opportunity for Bharatpur’s youth. Guided by our Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Lifelong Learning,’ we are focused on creating education and employment pathways for all, irrespective of age or location,” he said.

Shri Chaudhary also praised the initiative for effectively connecting local talent with potential employers, fostering economic growth in the region.

Over the past month, more than 3,500 youth from Bharatpur registered on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) and underwent a five-day intensive job-readiness programme, which included training on soft skills and role-specific capabilities like Assembly Line Operations and Customer Care. The five-day intensive job-readiness programme culminated with mega recruitment fair – Kaushal Mahotsav — wherein over 3,000 youth appeared for walk-in interview.

The ‘Job Readiness Programme’ aimed to enhance employment opportunities for Bharatpur’s youth and position the district as a hub for skilled workforce development. Employers from Rajasthan and neighboring regions participated, providing diverse opportunities and boosting local economic development. The recruitment drive included corporations from sectors such as tourism, hospitality, logistics, food processing, IT-ITES, automotive, BFSI, and electronics.

This initiative not only presents significant opportunities for Bharatpur’s youth but also aims to stimulate local economic development by connecting skilled individuals with potential employers. The Kaushal Mahotsav exemplifies the collaborative efforts between government bodies and industry leaders in preparing a skilled workforce to meet future challenges.

The event was attended by distinguished guests including Shri K.K Vishnoi, Hon’ble Minister of State, Skill and Employment and Entrepreneurship, Industry and Commerce, Sports & Youth Affairs, Policy Planning, Government of Rajasthan ; Shri Suresh Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Minister, Department of Water Resources, Govt. of Rajasthan; Shri Ramgopal Suthar, Chairman, Shri Vishwakarma Kaushal Board, Govt of Rajasthan; Dr. Subhash Garg, MLA, Bharatpur, Shri Mahendra Payaal, Chief Programme Officer, National Skill Development Corporation.

Since November 6, 2022, NSDC has organized eight Kaushal Mahotsavs across the nation in cities such as Dhenkanal (Odisha), Bundi (Rajasthan), Koderma (Jharkhand), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Secunderabad (Telangana), Sambalpur (Odisha), and Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh). These events connected 45,000 candidates with 26,431 job opportunities, with participation from 657 employers.
