										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>NEW DELHI</strong>. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has approved a new jetty at Paradip Port costing over Rs 797 crore. The jetty will handle green hydrogen, ammonia and other liquid cargo. The project will be developed by Paradip Port Authority under a build-operate-transfer model.</p>
<p>Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the project will increase cargo capacity, attract investment, create jobs and boost green energy in Eastern India. The facility will also handle other liquid cargo in the early stages to ensure better use of the port. The project supports the National Green Hydrogen Mission and will include modern infrastructure and advanced safety systems for clean energy handling. D D News</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>NEW DELHI.</strong> The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI) has entered into a multi-party collaboration to strengthen India’s end-to-end logistics ecosystem for export-import (EXIM) and coastal trade.   As part of a Government of India initiative led by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) and the Ministry of Railways, SCI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR), Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), V.O. Chidambarnar Port Authority (VOC Port), Chennai Port Authority (CPA), and Sagarmala Finance Corporation Ltd. (SFCL).</p>
<p>The MoU focuses on the acquisition, ownership, leasing, and operation of container vessels, containers, and other related logistics assets. The collaboration aims to enhance connectivity for both EXIM and coastal trade, subject to mutual agreement among the participating entities.</p>
<p>According to the disclosure, the broader objective of the partnership is to offer customers a seamless, end-to-end logistics solution by integrating port-based services with land and sea transportation. The initiative brings together the combined expertise and infrastructure of shipping, rail, port, and finance sectors to create a robust and efficient logistics network.</p>

The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has appointed Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh as Director of the Bulk, Crude and Tanker (BC&amp;T) segment, in addition to his current role as Director of Liner and Passenger Services. The appointment, approved by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is effective from 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2026 or until further orders. Rear Admiral Singh brings over 35 years of rich maritime experience from the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, having served in senior leadership roles including Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation) and Principal Director at Naval Headquarters. Since joining SCI in 2023, he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s operational segments and also serves on the boards of SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd, besides being Vice Chairman of the Narottam Morarje Institute of Shipping, Mumbai.</p>
