Under this social welfare initiative, MCL will spend 1.26 crore rupees to completely cover all expenses, including training fees, food, and housing, for 40 selected students throughout the entire two-year course.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) will invest Rs 40,000 crore to set up a 4,000 MW thermal power plant, ET reported. The project will be developed in association with Coal India and the Energy Department of Odisha.</p>
<p>The  company is also planning to establish a high ash coal to ammonium nitrate plant with an annual capacity of 6,00,000 metric tonnes. The investment outlay for this project is  Rs 11,782.05 crore. The plant will be set up in partnership with BCGCL and the Industries Department of Odisha.</p>
<p>In the renewable energy segment, MCL has lined up three major projects. These include a 2,000 MW ground-mounted and floating solar power plant with a projected investment of  Rs 12,000 crore. A 500 MW pumped storage power plant is proposed at an investment of  Rs 5,000 crore. Additionally, a 100 MW wind power plant is expected to be developed at a cost of  Rs 900 crore.</p>

During his address, Shri Prasad reaffirmed that the health, welfare, and safety of the workforce are critical priorities. He encouraged the HR community to align with best practices across industries to enhance both employee welfare and the upliftment of underprivileged communities.</p>
<p>Conference  focused on the evolving role of HR. The event featured discussions on fostering a culture of trust, transitioning from traditional Personnel Management to a more modern HR approach, and recognizing labor matters as essential drivers of growth. Emphasis was placed on upskilling leaders, strengthening employee relations, and understanding the impact of labor reforms on the industry. The conclave also explored union perspectives on changing industrial relations dynamics and the importance of balancing technology adoption with workforce welfare. Ultimately, the event reaffirmed a commitment to a future-ready, people-centric HR strategy aimed at driving sustainable growth and collaboration.</p>
<p>In his address, Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (HR), discussed the evolution of Coal India from Personnel Management to Human Resources, urging professionals to foster innovation, empathy, and continuous learning. He highlighted the necessity of adapting to a dynamic workforce and emphasized the importance of HR interventions in upgrading infrastructure and improving employee facilities. Dr. Ranjan also advocated for ongoing policy reforms and personal evolution among HR professionals, stressing the value of idea exchange and problem-solving approaches grounded in empathy.</p>
<p>The two-day conclave brought together over 150 delegates, including Directors (HR) from all subsidiary companies and distinguished HR leaders from industry and academia. Key topics included fostering a culture of trust, upskilling leaders, and understanding labor reforms along with their industry impact. The conclave reinforced Coal India&#8217;s commitment to a future-ready, people-centric HR approach that promotes sustainable growth and collaboration.</p>
<p>Team WCL HR, led by Director (HR) Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, participated in the HR for HR Conclave – 2025 at MCL Bhubaneswar.</p>
<p>Artificial intelligence has helped Emirates Group to cut down the time taken to select a candidate from 60 days to near zero days and saved Dh1.9 million in recruitment costs, according to a senior officer.</p>
<p>The technology helped streamline the procedure of hiring, cut down duplication and saved over 1100 days for recruiters.</p>
<p>Manal Al Soori, Senior Vice President of HR Group Recruitment at the company revealed these figures during a session at the Dubai AI Week. She explained that it now takes the firm less time to select candidates because several parts of the recruitment process has been automated, using the software by a company called Hirevue.</p>
