Shri Manoj Kumar Sharma has assumed charge as Director (Projects), GAIL (India) Limited. He brings over three decades of experience across hydrocarbon infrastructure, with expertise spanning design and engineering, project management, procurement, construction, operations and maintenance, business development and cost optimisation.

Prior to joining GAIL, Shri Sharma served as Executive Director and Regional Head, Eastern Region Pipelines, at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), overseeing operations, maintenance, construction and City Gas Distribution activities across five states and a pipeline network of over 5,700 km. At present, he is holding the position of Group General Manager and Zonal Head (East Zone) in IRCTC. Sharma has been recommended for the post of Director (Catering Services) of IRCTC from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on June 19. Out of seven candidates, five candidates were from IRCTC and one each from CONCOR and Indian Railways.
