Bengaluru, August 22, 2024 – NSDC International, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), is to provide robust digital skilling solutions to Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), to empower Malaysian youth with new age skills. The collaboration is set to bolster the bilateral ties between India and Malaysia, advancing the skill development framework in both countries.

NSDC International, MD and CEO, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari and Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), Group CEO Mr. Thomas Mathew signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday at Kaushal Bhawan in the esteemed presence of Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India and YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources, Government of Malaysia.

Speaking during the occasion Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Education, Govt of India said, “Our skill development program is designed with a strong focus on industry needs. By conducting extensive grassroots surveys, we have identified critical skill gaps, and the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) plays a pivotal role in bridging them. I am confident that TalentCorp will greatly benefit from the tech advisory solutions provided by NSDC International. This partnership offers valuable opportunities for mutual learning and growth for both the countries.”

The partnership will focus on two primary areas of cooperation: the digitalization of Malaysia’s talent ecosystem and the implementation of digitally verifiable credentials. Through a comprehensive skilling digital platform, this initiative will explore curriculum development, content creation, training design and delivery, and best practices for enhancing assessment and certification frameworks. NSDC digital platform will be studied for potential implementation in Malaysia.

We’ve observed that participants in these FSTC-guided programmes typically earn 10-15% higher salaries, demonstrating the strong link between enhanced productivity and increased wages.”

“With the new MoU, we will continue to intensify our collaboration and achieve even greater success for both the Ministries and for our two nations,” he said.

The collaboration aims to facilitate the human capital development of Malaysian youth through robust digital solutions. It will align with the key development priorities established by the Government of Malaysia and aims to prepare nation’s workforce for the demands of the 21st-century job market.

Under this agreement, TalentCorp will adopt global best practices in collaboration with NSDC International to swiftly identify and respond to changing market demands for skills, with a particular focus on new-age and 21st-century competencies. This approach is designed to enhance employment opportunities for Malaysian youth within the country, the region, and globally.

The total number of Coronavirus cases rose to 147 in India on Tuesday. A woman died in Maharashtra on Tuesday, taking the total number of deaths in India to three. Maharashtra has reported maximum cases of the highly contagious illness in India. The Coronavirus or COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation. As the total number of infected people reached 142, the government has stopped incoming travel from a number of nations, including the European Union, Malaysia, Philippines and Afghanistan.

One more person has tested positive for Coronavirus in Pune. The person has travel history to France and Netherlands. Total number of positive cases reaches 18 in Pune and 42 in Maharashtra: Naval Kishore Ram, District Magistrate of Pune, Maharashtra.

China reported just one new domestic case in the coronavirus outbreak on Wednesday, but a dozen more imported infections from overseas. For the second consecutive day there was only one more fresh infection in Wuhan, the central city where the virus first emerged late last year, the National Health Commission said. New cases in Hubei province have now been in the single digits for the past seven days, down from a peak of several thousand per day in early February.

Wuhan and its 11 million people were placed under strict quarantine on January 23, with the rest of Hubei province going under lockdown in the following days. In recent days, there has been an easing of restrictions in some parts of the province, with China saying it has “basically curbed” the spread of the virus.

Over 1.86 lakh passengers who have returned from the coronavirus-affected countries have been screened at the Delhi airport till date and placed under surveillance, Delhi Health Department authorities said on Tuesday. The total coronavirus cases in Delhi now stands at eight. As many as 4,458 passengers from the coronavirus-hit countries were screened on Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Delhi Health Department. India had reported its second casualty due to coronavirus on Friday with the death of a 68-year-old woman in Delhi.

The death toll from a deadly outbreak of virus in china jumped to 80 as the hard-hit province of Hubei announced 24 new fatalities.Total confirmed cases nationwide rose sharply to 2,744, officials said.

While there were no new deaths confirmed outside Hubei, the national tally of verified infections rose by 769, about half of them in Hubei, the National Health Commission said. It said 461 of those infected were in a serious condition.

China has sealed off Hubei in the country’s centre, an unprecedented operation affecting tens of millions of people which is intended to slow the transmission of the respiratory virus.

The end of the Lunar New Year holiday, China’s busiest travel season, was pushed back to Sunday from Friday to “effectively reduce mass gatherings” and “block the spread of the epidemic,” a Cabinet statement said. Schools will also postpone reopening until further notice, it added.

Cases have been confirmed in the semi-autonomous territories of Macau and Hong Kong, where the government is turning holiday camps into quarantine centres. South Korea confirmed its fourth case on Monday.

Scattered cases have also been confirmed in Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, Vietnam, Singapore Malaysia, Nepal, France, Canada and Australia. The US has confirmed cases in Washington state, Chicago, southern California and Arizona.
