The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Pushp Kumar Nayar for appointment as Director (Human Resources) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Schedule ‘A’ Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise. The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 16/2026 held at 8:45 AM on February 24, 2026, following a comprehensive selection process that included senior HR leaders from leading public sector organisations. Currently serving as Executive Director (HRD) at BPCL, Nayar brings extensive experience in human resource development, organisational strategy, leadership development, and workforce transformation, and emerged as the top choice among a competitive panel of candidates.

SAIL and RITES Sign MoU for Diesel Locomotive Leasing and Maintenance

NEW DELHI. Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna CPSE, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), a Navratna CPSE, to strengthen logistics and operational efficiency across SAIL’s plants and mines. SAIL operates a dedicated mini rail network within its premises to facilitate seamless movement of raw materials, in-process transfers and finished products, making effective maintenance of its diesel locomotive fleet—along with wet-leased locomotives—crucial for uninterrupted operations and future capacity expansion. As Indian Railways transitions towards electric locomotives, RITES continues to offer specialized expertise in diesel locomotive operations and maintenance, supported by access to Indian Railways’ facilities, spares and skilled manpower, positioning it well to meet SAIL’s operational needs. This collaboration will enable both organizations to focus on their core strengths, optimize costs, enhance operational efficiency and contribute to reducing the carbon footprint. The MoU was signed by Shri P.K. Baisakhiya, Executive Director (Operations), SAIL, and Shri Sandeep Jain, Executive Director (Technical Services), RITES, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

REC Limited commits Rs.15 Cr for free medical treatment of children

REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, has committed Rs.15 crore to provide free medical treatment and surgery for approximately 1,000 children born with congenital heart disease from economically weaker sections of society.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) formalizing this noble endeavour was signed between Ms. Taruna Gupta, Executive Director, CSR at REC Limited, and Shri Vivek Gaur, Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust. The agreement was exchanged in the esteemed presence of Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Chairman and Managing Director, REC Limited.

This initiative is a continuation of REC’s previous CSR initiative, ‘Healing Little Hearts’, where Rs.15 crore was allocated to treat 1,000 children. The success of the initial project provided these children with a new lease on life, has Inspired REC to extend its support for second consecutive year to even more families in need.
